John 6:27

Can some1 explain to me what this verse means?
And is there a website that gives insights to what verses like these mean....like where I can understand verses when I dont understand.

"Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal." -- NASV

I believe the verse is saying not to centre your life around perishable items, but perspire for the Glory of God. Food, Money, Sex, Drugs, are all things that people put their whole lives in. But Food can kill you, Money will not be with you in heaven, Sex can give you STDs and you can become impotent, Drugs cost money you may not have and can kill you. God is eternal... When you have a relationship with him, NOTHING can prevent that.

Consider this verse

1 Cor 10:31
Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Ya thats what I was thinking but what does that have to do with the context?
A few verses b4, Jesus was feeding the 5000 and the same people come here in verse 26 and in verse 27 this is what it says.

Jesus probably took the chance to elaborate on his miracle. "Fair enough ive just fed you all a good meal of bread and fish, but you must remember that this is not what Im here for. The food that I have to offer spiritually is eternal, and not fleshly food."
