  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jesus calmed waters, healed the blindness, sickness, cast out demons even raised the dead.

What are these greater works that believers will do?
I don't know specifically, but it will be in them preparing the world for his return, in which many mountains will be moved, all kinds of sicknesses cured and/or healed, possibly the casting out of demons, maybe even calling down fire or hailstorms from heaven, say in warfare, or people who basically have the ability and freedom and permission by God, to be able to do basically anything they wish... A kind of "Exodus" could happen before his return, ect...

But these could also be symbolic, metaphorical, mountains, healing's, fire, hail, ect...

I don't know...? But, I am open to both...

God Bless!

Through prayer, believers will do greater works. The next 2 verses tell us,

13) You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. 14) Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!

It's through prayer, in Jesus' name, that believers will do greater works.

During Jesus' earthly ministry He chooses, empowers and instructs His disciples. After which He atones for the sins of the world, resurects and accends to the right hand of the Father giving instructions to wait for the Holy Spirit who then can reside in all true believers by His gift of faith.

I believe the greater works believers will do in Mark 16:17-18. Is to help a lost soul find their way to salvation in Christ.

Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
(And he that winneth souls is wise)

James 5:20 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
(Convert a sinner & help save a should from eternal death)

John 17:20 Jesus said; Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word
(Jesus prayed to the Father, that people would believe on Christ. Thru the words spoken by His disciples)

1 Corinthians 3:6-7 One plants another waters & then God gives the

Mark 8:36 & Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

To the Lord ONE lost soul found. Is more important the ALL THE RICHES IN THE WORLD. Maranatha

To understand the "works" in John 14:12, you should read John 14:11.
