As a second class citizen I guess all I can do is marvel at you guys.
What bothers me is I didn't see anything about him running for president
No worries, you'll be assimilated against your willAs a second class citizen I guess all I can do is marvel at you guys.
By thinking Hitler was inhuman, we subconsciously say that we could never sink to such evil. Not so. It's unpleasant to consider, but ever single one of us are capable of such evil. That likely isn't what Mr. Webbon means, but it's still something we should keep in mind.Hitler wasnt Satan. He was human. This change away from this WW2 paradigm that Hitler was Satan incarnate is not a bad thing. He was a man, an evil man but a man nonetheless with motivations and human limitations.

Given the history of human warfare and how perfectly normal people can be transformed into killers on the most flimsy pretense, I'd say you're wrong. The allies didn't mind causing mass casualties yet you probably wouldn't say they were Sadists. They were cold and calculated and determined to win by any means possible. Hitler was as well but his methods were just more brutal. No we shouldn’t keep that in mind nor are most willing to do what he did. We may defend our loved ones from harm and respond in kind. But the majority don’t have the stomach for killing large groups of people or torturing them either. You’d need a thirst for sadism to do so.

Not really. The average layman is capable of great brutality and lethality when circumstances force him to be such. There’s a difference between the military and laymen. I wasn’t referencing soldiers in that comment.

I mean given different circumstances Hitler might not have even have been a Hitler. That's the problem with dehumanizing a mere man and treating him as the literal incarnation of Satan. We are all capable of great evil sometimes for the things we love. In Hitler's case it was for Germany and the Germans.“When circumstances force him” is the caveat. They’re not mini Hitlers by choice.

Because you're a woman and likely won't be drafted in any war to fight. It's not in your nature to desire or do it. For men however it is different and men have always been compelled towards violence all throughout history. Although if the threat were existential women have been known to encourage and shame men they know into fighting to the death on their behalf. So I don't know, who can say unless they're tested. Yet we know circumstances can change people radically and only a select few keep their values in the face of death.I don’t believe he’s satan and anyone with a modicum of experience with spiritual warfare will know the difference. I think he was part of something greater and that’s all I say. I will not die for many or take a life on their account as well. We all have our boundaries.

Oh, how I wish you were right. That would mean there were limits that normal people would not cross. Yet Hitler had no lack of those willing to participate in the Holocaust, and of those very few, if any, were clinically insane. A post-WWII psychological study was released or made public in the 1970s, and it showed no difference between Nazis and the average Westerner. The long defunct Science Digest had a short article about it with the words "...just plain folks.." in the title. That's where I first learned of it. As evil as the Holocaust was, most of the participants were psychologically average people. No we shouldn’t keep that in mind nor are most willing to do what he did. We’re at the point when we should denounce these people and evict them from the flock.
