  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I am puzzled why God would take the bet with Satan regarding Job. It seems so cruell, when God ultimately knos what the answer will be. Can anyone shed some light?
satan's ultimate goal is to "unseat" God...nobody can do that..not even the most powerful angel (which he is). satan even tries to tempt God. It does not work. The only way for temptation to be sucessful is if it trips a person up. God was not tripped up in the least, and satan can only do so much...It seems like a lot to us, but compared to the power of God satan might be equal to a particle of dust...

When satan tried to tempt Christ it did not work either. Eventually satan gave up because there was nothing he could do within his power to make Christ sin.

Even though it may seem cruel to us..Job actually glorified God in spite of satan's best efforts, and it demonstrates the depth of faith...It also teaches us that all of us..even the elect will face our tests and temptations. We do though have the ability to come out on top no matter what happens in our lives as long as God is our God.
