Job Insecurity

Hi,

I'm a newbie here. I like the forum a lot and really have only scratched the surface. I think you can get lost here with all the different areas to post.

My prayer request is simple:

I need the Lord's help either with my current job or in finding a new one. I'm in a sales related position. Business has been slow so I'm having both some financial pressure and also some "quota" pressure from the company.

I'm a single Dad with a seven year old son. I'm getting some urges to find a more stable job. My company always scoffs at "regular" jobs but I watch my clients and they seem to do pretty well with stable paychecks. I have the urge to get one (a stable paycheck) for myself.

I usually go through the major insecurity in the morning. At night I'm more serene and accepting of my fate.

I've been praying about this a lot. I don't want to say I'm not getting any answers but - they are coming slow. Also I've been unsure how to interprate things that seem like they might be a "sign".

I prayed really intently one night and then the next day had a negative random event which to me seemed like a possible sign that it's time to start looking.

Welcome Prodigal7, newbie, yes, this site is a bit overwhelming at first, I got chicken when I first tried back in Nov. and just returned two weeks ago(?) and am finally getting the swing of it, a bit. Im studing all these things and just wanted to share what I am myself, applying to my life, in order to achieve God's best in my life. I am seeing God working as I tithe and give to His work and not holding back from offerings even though it looks like I shouldnt at times, I continue to be obedient and trust God with the outcome. Thank you everybody for your prayers.

I'm beginning to see that finding another job, if it's God's will, is going to take time. Today I went to work and decided while I'm still at my present company I'm going to work hard.

Part of my problem is anxiety. I actually opened the Bible and put it on my desk while I got my morning started. This morning anxiety or depression is a big enemy. I'm trying to pray more and get to bed earlier.

I love this sight so far. Finally, something on the web positive.

As we intensify our prayers usually the evil one tries to discourage us so it is no wonder you experience negative events and feelings. Keep it up it will happen in God's time.

Praying that the Almighty God will direct you in your search for a new employment. Please God help your servant enlighten his ways and guide him to Your will.

My relationship has been a distraction to my job. I felt some new energy flow in today.

I'm still unsure of my future direction. I have noticed the more I pray that the enemy is working. I've never practiced prayer this intently before. Most of my life it was quick 30 second prayers and that was it.

I have Psalm 6 memorized for when I start to feel discouraged throughout the day. Find your favorite Psalm and memorize it. You will find it to be so helpful when you are having a rough day! My thoughts and prayers are with you Chris! I praise you for wanting more for you and your son!
