Do you work and go to school at the same time? How many hours a week do you work? How do you balance school/work and a social life? Would you recamend this to anyone or would you rather go to school full time?

Yeah I sure do work and study at the same time. I have a full time job but I also have help from my paretns. i guess you just got to ask the Lord for guidance on what's best for you.

The apostle Paul was in ministry and worked at the same time. I think it can be done if that's the Lord's call for you

I work 40+ hrs a week and go to school 5 days a week so obviously any spare time i have i spend it sleeping lol but sometimes i want to just be with friends and family so i take a day or two off and rest/ do something fun, then i go back to work.

i think we all need to find the happy medium, for each person its different, i just work for now but i might go to uni in the future, currently over christmas i work 35 hours + a week normally its about 25

How many hours a week do you work?

Speaking specifically for law school, there's a limit to the number of hours/week you can work, at least in the 1st year. That's 20. I started working as a 2L and worked about 20 hours a week.

How do you balance school/work and a social life?

You just kind of learn how to do so. If you're talking about dating, the person you're dating will probably be in the same situation so will understand that your schedule is pretty tight. As for balancing school and work, I set a schedule for myself. Work, say, 10-3, classes from 4-7 (hour for travel and finding parking), and then once home study till 11. It's not easy, but it can be done. Trust me, it'll all work out.

Would you recamend this to anyone or would you rather go to school full time?

Yes, I would recommend people try to work and go to school at the same time, so long as it doesn't hurt your grades. If your grades start to fall, then I'd suggest you cut back on work if you can (though I know the money situation is pretty hairy for college students). Let me put it this way: having been in the workforce for a while before going back to law school, I can tell you we looked for people with at least some work experience on their application/resume. They understood what it meant to keep a schedule, to work with others, to be responsible for something. Plus, in the long run, it just looks better on your resume and applications. For professional schools, like business, law, and medicine, work related experience will look really good to try to get into those programs and once you graduate and pass the relevant boards.

I don't, but I should given I don't really have a social life during the week. And people like me are best kept busy..
