When it says on the job app to list 3 people you've known for at least 1 year, can that be people from out of state too or just local??

Can be anyone who can attest to your work ethic and other desirable traits in an employee except family ( since they can be bias). Usually if you want to know for certain asks the person hiring you.

one more question: how about jobs held for a short time, say 3 months? I was told I had to include them since the app was sort of binding. I just put the experience from those positions on my resume. Reason why a few were so short is I needed surgery and we moved.

that's my concern, Autumnleaf thanks for answering. Also there is a home job I did, I believe a 1099 was filed for me, but I made only like $30 a week. Should that be listed too? I tried calling the phone number but apparently it is not a good number since it's been disconnected.
