Wow, sounds like I missed some good stuff! So they didn't have "the fight" or anything yet? The police are on the evil side? And her dad?!? How is that?

Well, her dad's not on the evil side really. It's just that the guy has gotten himself on the good side of the police department, the school board, etc., so they all trust him to be a "good guy". Joan tried to tell her dad that she thought he had been behind the church vandalism, and her dad didn't believe her. So Joan is kind of on her own, with just her friends to back her up. None of the adults seem to be taking her seriously.

As for the next season, CBS hasn't announced whether it is being renewed yet. It's been "on the bubble" for a while now. I think they announce on or about the 15th-16th so we should hear something soon.

Well, the upfronts are in, and it's official - Joan is gone. :(

From TVGuide.com (http://www.tvguide.com/news/entertainment/)

OH, GOD: It appears Joan of Arcadia has fallen out of favor with the man upstairs. CBS, which unveils its fall schedule today, has canceled the struggling sophomore drama.

Bummer.

NOOO! I was just getting into this show!

:Takes on a determined mode: Alright, all fans of "Joan of Arcadia", if you want to possibly help the show send an e-mail on the CBS comment line. I've just done so. I read a little while ago on another message board that the reason "Joan" was canceled was because CBS didn't think the show appealed to teenagers. I think this is pure rubbish, but that makes this even more important. If you're a teenager, make sure to include your age in the letter/e-mail. It's a long shot, but maybe if CBS realizes how wrong they were "Joan" can pull a "Family Guy" and come back on the air. The show they replaced "Joan" with ("Ghost Whisperer") looks like a "Medium" copycat. Hopefully audiences realize that too! Please, everyone, I'm begging you!

Fans of "Joan of Arcadia" unite!

or abrahmic type.
In fact 'it'{beeing gendelress on the show} is barely theistic; it is more of a pantheistic or panentheiostic/panendeistic deity that is revealed through all religions. You could call it allmost a Universalist god. 'It" reveals itself to Joan and probably to others but not as the deity of the bible/koran/torah/etc. If one is observant, it is a personal deity but at the same time it neither endorses or judges any particular religious path. The shows referances that are made to god are mainly Judeo-christian and Christian Church and universal christian church oriented-BUY THE PEOPLE,m but you'll notice that god never ever actually even implies that Christianity or Judaism is THE way to it; I suspect that if they took the characters to another part of the world-the referances would be islamic, hindu, buddhist, pagan, you name it.

On that note;
I love this show, tis one of my faves; even though I don't subscribe to the idea of a personal god.

yes it has been cancelled. not moved or anything...
if you look in entertainment headlines, you might see an article that says "arcadia star OK with cancellation" (mm...i get my news from myway.com, which gets news from the same sources as yahoo).

anyways...yup.
i don't think there's anything we can do about it.
i mean i hate to sound all negative about it, but the network looks at the ratings. if a show isn't doing well...
that and the fact that the show is "about god"...i think that at least the network sees that to be a reason why the show doesn't do too well (yes...despite the love for it here in this thread).
i would love for it to be able to move...but it seems as if amber tamblyn has been able to move on and accept it as life.

It's not being replaced with a comedy. It's being replaced with a show starrting Jennifer Love Hewitt that is very similar to the show Medium. She will be talking to dead people and having various adventures as a result. Les Moonves, CEO of CBS, said he believes that "talking to dead people, as opposed to talking to God" will appeal more to the younger audience he is trying to attract.
