heh...i like Adam.

anyways...how is the show doing on the ratings chart?
sorta watching ET right now...and they mention something (after a segment on some youth program involving the cast) about there being a discussion whether the show would be back for a 3rd season or not.
...or is that something they always say...?
dunno...I love the show. Hope it continues to go on...

oh...I found out about the ratings. they were #53 last episode.
and also nvm...it is in danger of being cancelled. >.<

This is one of my two must-see shows. I really identify with Joan the character -- if you ever want to know what it's like emotionally to deal with being prophetic -- watch this show. The only things that bother me are the theologically questionable things -- and there are MUCH, MUCH fewer of them than I could've imagined.

PS -- I just LOVE the way Joan dresses -- wish more kids at school would dress like her or at least like something other than what everyone else wears....... now aren't I spiritual? lol ;)

Tonight's episode was interesting. I remember Rocky after about 4 rounds when Rocky popped Apollo with a hard left hook and the music was a deep piano....like - ok....it's on now. This season ender was like that - ok - I know who Satan is and it's on now. The only problem is I've heard the show might be cancelled. That would be too bad.

I really don't think this new guy is the devil. In an earlier episode, god told Joan that there was no devil, just choices. Something along those lines anyway. Can't remember exactly!

And what god said about Joan and Ryan - about them balancing eachother out and being connected. Joan makes good choices, but it seems that Ryan hasn't. Kinda like yin/yang I suppose. Maybe Joan and her "army" have to fight to keep this balance? As in the finale, Ryan is worming his was in everywhere and he has that creepy wind that follows him. And I've never really thought of good/evil when watching JOA, just choices, effects and consequences, or "ripples" as they're called in the show.

Also, I don't think they are going to bring the devil into the show. If you watch the show, you see that the writers are careful not to attach god to any particular faith. I mean, there are Christian aspects in it, Jewish aspects etc. And god has never once mentioned Jesus, repentance of sins etc IIRC. I just say the god in JOA is non-denominational for all religions :p

I love the show...... I like that it doesn't cater to any denomination's thinking. I think that is realistic. Most Christians are going to be very surprised someday when they find out how things really are. I don't say that because I think that I have it all figured out. It is just that we can't put God in a box and think that He should behave the way that we think he should. God is bigger than that. One of my favorite parts of the show is that they make God big and not dyfunctional or controled by humans. God loves us but is not part of our dysfunctional manipulations as though God is looking for our approval. From reading my bible, I know that people are almost always offened when they get a glimpse of how God does things. In my own Christian walk, I am frequently frustrated about God's timing, unanswered prayers, unchecked evil in the world. Obviously God is not all that concerned about proving something to us and making it all make sense to us. As if we were God's judges or something.

Anyway, these past few episodes are awesome. I like the darker/scarier plots. I also like the way that the show deals with real issues and doesn't try to follow the path of most shows which resolve shallow probelms in an hour or less. In real life , people commit suicide, spouses cheat on each other, etc. I don't think the show is negative about it. It just allows people to work through a more realistic set of emotions.

Oh man, this is my #2 favorite show on air! I love it! I liked the suspense and mystery in last Friday's episode with the evil Ryan guy and Joan. I wanted to yell at Ryan when he said "I have the newspaper, policedept., and now the schoolboard...etc". Oh..EVIL! Lol, but what is this about it being cancelled? Why would one do that??? People DO have the power to change the channel if they are offended by it or for whatever reason people are trying to cancel it! Anyone have any further info about this possible cancellation? Maybe it is just a rumor? I hope..

Lol, okay..I just searched on Google News and found out that Friday's episode was the finale of season 2. I also read how they (CBS) is unsure whether or not there will be a season 3. Here is something I found from an article:

We won't know if Joan of Arcadia gets a third season until around May 18 - but if it doesn't, this is going to be maybe the worst cliffhanger series ending since Angela Chase drove off in Jordan Catalano's car, staring back at Brian Krakow all the way. How do you set up the apocalypse and not deliver? Well, maybe if CBS cancels the show, it'll bounce back on PAX.

My opinion: THEY CAN NOT CANCEL THE SHOW! I have almost like- become attached to Joan (lol), because the show does a great job of "keeping it real";dealing with real life problems and not fake ones that turn out all happy in the end. I believe there are 2 things we need to do for a greater chance of getting Joan back:

1) PRAY!
Haha, well..I think that it would help!!

2) MAKE AN ONLINE PETITION!!!
Okay, as useless as this may sound, being the time period of the discision and all, I think it is worth a shot! Lol, can anyone make a petition asking for a 3rd season of Joan of Arcadia for others to sign?? I know you can make them online easily but I am not well experienced with them. So, if anyone would be willing to make one online, just give us the link and I know I will be signing it! :D

Wow...I am really getting into JoA. Is an online petition and praying going a little to far? Sorry if it is..It is just an idea or 2 that I have. Take Care and God Bless,
Josh

I CAN NOT BELIEVE IT! This is one show that I always make an effort to watch. I was planning on taping it Friday, but I completely forgot! (I had conformation so that's ok ;) ) It wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that this was the season finale and possibly the series finale!!! I would really love to know what happened so if anyone could give me like an entire summary, or even a little one, that would be amazing!! Thanks a bunch!

I will take a whack at it even though it has been a couple weeks it seems. But okay...Um. Just so you know I don't know every characters name so...please forgive me for that, lol. But the guy that saved Adam on the previous episode returns on the final episode, and Joan and him (his name is Ryan) talk. Joan finds out that Ryan is actually what you could say "On the dark side" of his religion. She also then finds out that the past 2 years have been a spirtual bootcamp for her fot the fight against evil (with Ryan) in the future. Basically Good (Joan and her friends) against evil (Ryan and everyone else he has on his side: the police, newspaper, schoolboard). It is then Joan feels hopeless and doesnt really know how the heck she will be able to pull this fight off when Ryan has everyone (including her dad) on his side. The last line I believe is between Joan and God when He says "You have everything you need [to fight evil]". Appearantly this is like a modern Joan of Arc scenerio, but I am a bit unsure about that part. The very last scence of season 2 shows Joan standing there while Ryan walks past her (all with slow motion;)), and us, the audience is left pondering what exactly what will happen between these 2 in the next season!

Thanks for the recap! I sort of missed it too. I was gone that weekend and didn't get to see it and I taped it, but I haven't had a chance to see the tape because my dad keeps taping on that tape and he's not back until tonight from a trip. So I"ll have to wait until he watches his stuff and then, if he hasn't taped over it, I'll watch it.

Wow, sounds like I missed some good stuff! So they didn't have "the fight" or anything yet? The police are on the evil side? And her dad?!? How is that?
