The shut-down of Omaha, Nebraska's Franklin Community Federal Credit Union, raided by federal agencies in November 1988, sent shock waves all the way to Washington, D.C. $40 million was missing. The credit union's manager: Republican Party activist Lawrence E. "Larry" King, Jr., behind whose rise to fame and riches stood powerful figures in Nebraska politics and business, and in the nation's capital.

In the face of opposition from local and state law enforcement, from the FBI, and from the powerful Omaha World-Herald newspaper, a special Franklin committee of the Nebraska Legislature launched its own probe. What looked like a financial swindle, soon exploded into a hideous tale of drugs, Iran-Contra money-laundering, a nationwide child abuse ring, and ritual murder.

Nineteen months later, the legislative committee's chief investigator died - suddenly, and violently, like more than a dozen other people linked to the Franklin case.

Author John DeCamp knows the Franklin scandal from the inside. In 1990, his "DeCamp memo" first publicly named the alleged high-ranking abusers. Today, he is attorney for two of the abuse victims.

Using documentation never before made public, DeCamp lays bare not only the crimes, but the cover-up - a textbook case of how dangerous the corruption of institutions of government, and the press, can be. In its sweep and in what it portends for the nation, the Franklin cover-up followed the ugly precedent of the Warren Commission.

Jimmy Savile was an extremely clever man who used his public persona to cover his activities. I doubt many knew what he was really like so to label his friends in such a way is completely unfair. I'm sure all of us have known people who have done something shocking which we never would have thought them capable of.

First I've head of it, and I already know enough to spell it Dutroux. Research shows that Belgian police were incompetent. No sign of satan or conspiracy.

Yes, but it wasn't a cover up. The sex abuse allegations were false and innocents had their reputations destroyed.

It was an enjoyable show, and the last one I saw with Michael Clark Duncan...well, it was called the Finder, not the Finders.

I really don't think the kids are lieing, that said, I'm not entirely sure they would remember everything accurately either.

Since in the first video that was posted, one of the children mentioned being injected with some kind of purple liquid, that leads me to believe that the kids may have been drugged.

So it would be fairly easy for them to associate some people with the abuse, that weren't involved in the abuse, however the people that they knew fairly well already, I believe it is safe to say that those individuals need to be behind bars.

If you watch the first video, there is enough there to suggest that these children were in fact sexually abused.

So I'm not going to call the kids liars like you are, however I'm not entirely sure if they accurately remember who all was involved in abusing them, except for maybe a handful of the abusers. If they were in fact drugged, their memories of what went on might not be entirely accurate as to the identity of the abusers and/or whom was involved.

I am not, however going to dismiss what these children said as being a pack of lies either...

Heck, it is entirely possible that the kids heard voices from the Television in their drugged state and associated those voices with the people abusing them.

So while conspiracy nuts are saying all these politicians worldwide are involved in abusing these kids, the reality could be that their abusers had on the television with the volume cranked up so neighbors wouldn't potentially hear the kids scream.
