Susie, I'll tell you what Dawny's Cousin Anthony did...he would get a job, learn what he could, then quit...then get another job (with the new knowledge he gained), learn what he could, then quit...he did this several times and now he has his own computer company in Manhattan, making millions upon millions annually...

So, you could take that job, gain experience, learn what you can, quit, come home, get a job here with your new knowledge and experience...

Folks, I need help and advice. Please, do not be afraid to speak what you feel is true. I am in a big, confused mess. Here is the issue:

Today, I just received an email asking to interview me for a job as a CS/surgical tech in Blenheim New Zealand. It is an awesome job and would pay well. HOWEVER, this would mean that I can not move back home, and this saddens me. But, we are so tight in finances, it might be hard. But, will I be happy staying here. But, (Sure are a lot of "buts") if we go back to the states, will we make enough money. Oh dear, I am so upset. They want to see me for an interview on the 14th of this month. I know I may not get it, but I really think I would, this is a kind of job that most would not qualify for, I did it for 5 years in the states, I quit though due to marital issues and nerves. UGH. I am so upset. Please, you are my friends, I do not care what you say, just give me ideas.

Thanks lots in advance.

First and foremost, what are Steve's thoughts about it? Since he is considering the move back to the states, then his thoughts on you getting a job there should play into it.

Secondly, you've never been happy there, and even though you say you would be happy, would you really? Or are you finding that maybe your happiness is not dependent on where you are, but something inside of you? Not trying to be harsh, of course!!!

I think your heart is still back in the states. Also, you need to think about your health. Is there health care available in any other town that you can use that will help you be as healthy as possible? If you can't get the health care you need as you are getting older, that is a concern long term.

That is sort of what I was thinking. Only problem, I found out that when folks hire you here, you have to fill out a contract saying you will stay an "x" amount of time, well, if I got sick or could not do it, they could actually sue me. Yikes, I do not need that.

I don't know, part of me, most of me actually, still wants to go home, this is a big decision I have to make. YUCK.

Ok so what you need to do is write yourself some lists. Pros and cons and options, so 3 lists. Write down the pros of each side. The cons of each side. And ultimately, what ALL of your options are going forward.

Then brainstorm about what would be the wisest option, and above and beyond all, PRAY about it.

He says we will pray on it.

I guess a little of both. One thing I do know, the least little thing that irritates me over here, makes me want to leave. I still get really ticked at all their dog gone policies, etc. Grrrrrr.

You are a 100% right, it IS in the states, always will be, and I doubt seriously if I will ever get over it. No, the health care there is the same as all of New Zealand, it sucks, for me at least.

LOL, as I am answering these questions, I am answering myself, I still think I should move back home. I think I was just flattered that I finally got an interview invite, but now that the shock is wearing off, I still want to go back to the states.

That was one of my thoughts as well.
