Hello my dear friends, Wow, this thread has been through so many subjects already today. I see the latest is nutrition. Hmmm, I, too, like butter but Steve doesn't. However, I am going to start using it again like I did back home, I will get my own little container, he can use his vegetable spread. Dr. Jonathon Wright, a former doctor of mine, said that margarine IS plastic and the WORST junk food a person can eat, yet, it is labelled as being so healthy, yuck, no way. I use to work in a health food store, and believe me, some of what the doctors tell their patients is criminal. As to coconut oil, I have heard nothing but good about it, I think I will see if I can find some and stat using it again. You are right, Rebecca, healthy eating is expensive, especially over here when even "normal" food is expensive. But, getting sick is expensive as well, so, I would rather spend my money on good food and supplements than on doctor bills. By the way, Jimmy, Dawny's dress is gorgeous, that style of dress would be my dream wedding gown for sure. She sure is a lovely lady.
Susie you have been to Jonathon Wright? Wow

Yes, Rebecca, he was my doctor for a long time. He is a great doctor and man as well. I saw him when he was first getting started. I learned about him from the magazine "Prevention" he use to write for it. I went to him for lots of things, and had so many test run. I stopped going for awhile, and sadly, when I wanted to return, I couldn't as the dang SWAT team had taken a lot of his records and mine was one of them, and he was not taking new patients at the time. He hardly does at all now, he is so busy with research, etc. His office is so neat, well, to me, since I am into that kind of stuff. He did/and his colleagues still do, chelation therapy IV, Vitamin C IV's for cancer patients, different tests to see how you are digesting, the 6 hours glucose test, allergy testing, oh, sooooo many, I am just scratching the surface. He use to have folks from all over the world fly in to see him, that is how good he was. I would LOVE to work for someone like him.

Actually, all my doctors back home, studied with him, they also attended the wonderful "Bastry College" that is for naturopaths, and is the "cream of the crop" of that type of school. I walked the campus once, LOL, I was in awe. It is located out of Seattle. I love naturopathic docs, sadly, in this country, they are more like withch craft, I do not see them, but, when I go back home to visit my aunt, I will start again, they have always helped me, even when the conventional MD's haven't.

Oh, I forgot to mention, the reason the dang SWAT team raided him was for......get this crap, for giving and prescribing Vitamin B12 shots. The dang FDA knew it was helping folks, and they had wanted to get him anyway, so, they made up these stories, it was awful. You can not be healthy the healthy way in the states, or anywhere, the government tries to butt in. Well, they won't with me, I know too much and can by pass the jerks.

Sure, there are times when the MD is needed, but, for the most part, if you take care of yourself, take the right supplements, eat correctly, exercise, you won't need them too much, hopefully.

Susie that is awesome! I have read so much of his stuff. A wonderful doctor. The herbalist I worked for considered going to Bastyre but had a working cattle ranch to run here & couldn't leave for that long. You were so blessed to have access to top notch natural doctors!

I remember reading about that. Have always been a strong advocate for our right to alternative treatments. A health food store here wants me to work there but the freight is too much, I need foot surgery before I can work 40 hrs week on my feet & lifting. Miss it so though! Can you work in a health food store there since you have experience?

This nutritionalist stuff is going over my head ^_^

Speaking of nutrition, has anyone here heard of Nutrition Response Testing?

I agree, Rebecca. I am spoiled, I went to one here, man, I was most disappointed, never again. She had not even heard of the Bastry college. I can't wait to get home and see this new one my aunt is talking about.

LOL, Nigh, yeah, but if it is a regular MD, and they kiss the FDA posterior, they can get away with it, they just have it in for the other type. However, Dr Wright IS an MD as well, he graduated from Harvard, he just could not handle having to lie to the patients all the time like his colleagues did, so, being a renegade he went out on his own, the rest is history,

LOL, Tins, well, for most, it would go over their head. I have a deep interest in it, and have studied, gotten hundreds of journals, and as I shared, see those kind of doctors. I am most interested in it, so I absorb all I learn like a sponge.

No, I have not heard of Nutrition response. I will have to look it up.

Oh, sure, I DO know what it is, I just googled it. It is "Applied Kinesiology". My chiropractor back home did it, some do it here as well. My naturopath did it on me before she prescribed things as I am so sensitive to so many chemicals. It is amazing and it DOES work.

That's really cool!

NRT is hard to explain...but a lady at my church is doing it and right now because she just got licensed and is still getting settled in it, she's offering the sessions for free, so I'm thinking it might be worth while to go and see what she finds. It's kind of like they test the nerve reactions to see which organs are stressed or malfunctioning and why...and then they have supplements that are designed specifically for the issues that you can take or they will help you get your life back on track food wise, if that's what needs to happen. I'm afraid to go because I know she will find out that I'm SO addicted to sugar and that I don't eat well...lol...but I want to at least know what the answer is to me feeling better, so then at least I have power to change...lol

That's like my doctor, as well! It's amazing how much they get away with in conventional medicine. I didn't realize until I was in a bad situation and had to try something else. Is Dr. Wright a doctor of functional medicine, environmental medicine, naturopathy... something else? There are so many lol

I think it would help you a lot, Tins. It will not really tell if you are addicted to sugar, it will mainly tell what supplements you need to add to your diet, and what organs need to be helped with certain herbs, etc. It is a great technique, you and your body work together so to speak.

I agree, the FDA keeps so many good things hidden or lies about them, and, they get away with it.

Dr Wright is all those things, Nigh, conventional, environmental, naturopathy, you name it, and it is all natural, however, if he sees the need for a drug, he will prescribe it, that is only IF all else has failed. He has the cutting edge on most MD's, he knows how to get to the root of an issue instead of covering the problem up with a band-aide.

My naturopath does A.K. testing. I'm fortunate in that he is my friend and treats me for free or we trade out work.
Oh wow, Rebecca, I am soooo jealous. Lucky you.

That's cool Rebecca...does it help you a lot?

I'm worried about the cost of the supplements but hopefully there are things I can do to change my diet a little...man do I like sugar.

My main complaints are chronic muscle and joint pain, sensitivity to extreme temperatures, fatigue, digestion issues, and decreased circulation issues.

I am taking a step in December to feel better, a huge step, if you want to know just PM me, as it is a rather personal thing, but I don't mind sharing behind the scenes lol anyway, that should help with some of my neck and shoulder pain and my breathing and it should also help with my exercise as I will be less bothered by pain, hopefully...but food wise I know I need to do better. I don't eat enough and when I do eat, it's carbs and sugar lol

I am sure he does environmental, doesn't he Susie? The Herbalist I worked for went on a cruise where he was one of the main speakers and she got a few of his signed books. I think I got them when she passed away. You guys even my regular doctor asks people if they want natural treatment. Getting more common I hope.
