CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi folks,
I love snow. Back home in Cle Elum, our first year there in 1996, we had 14 feet!! Yep, feet. We usually averaged between 5 and 10 feet, but that year broke all records, the entire state of Washington had more snow than usual. It was not unusual for the mountain pass between us and Seatle to be closed due to avalanche control. I miss it, but I do not miss the ice. When the snow would melt during the day, it would freeze at night, then we would have "black ice" that is dangerous to drive on, but the snow is not bad.
We do not have snow here. Last year, my first year here, we had a little, this year, none. I hate that Christmas is in Summer here, that so sucks big time. There is no Christmas spirit here anyway, and the hot weather makes it worse. UGH.

I guess it is all in what you are use to, I hate it, I mean, I miss my "white Christmases, the horse drawn snow sleds, Christmas carols and later roasted marshmallows. Nope, THAT is my Christmas. LOLhey Susie

I think the palm trees in Florida look so dumb with Christmas lights on them I can't imagine having Christmas in summer, no way, that'd be TOO weird!

yea I think it is like that. If I went somewhere freezing with snow at Christmas it would seem so strange. but yea alot of movies portray a white christmas like that, with all that stuff, it does look interesting kinda lol

I agree, Tins, some of the larger yachts do as well, I just can not get use to that. Christmas should be winter, period. LOLI think the palm trees in Florida look so dumb with Christmas lights on them
I will say one thing, in Seattle, there is a large boat harbour, lots of the boats decorate for Christmas, but that is different, it is still winter and usually cold, so, that is permissible. Sort of pretty actually.

its the same as having it in winter, except there's no snow and it's warm!
