Jesus was man and God at the same time

13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

On his human side, Jesus came down from heaven; at the same time, on his divine side, he was in heaven.

Berean Standard Bible, John 1:

18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is at the Father’s side, has made Him known.

Yet Jesus said everything He did was not of His own accord, but through Him from an outside source. Setting the example of why man exists.
