  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Of all the other religions that I've studied thus far, Islam is the one that is the most defensible. I have come to have a great appreciation for the dedication of devout Muslims to their beliefs, and some of the disciplines could be lessons to us Christians. Yet, in just comparing the chararistics of Jesus vs. Mohammed or God vs. Allah the resluts basically come up the same.... they are clearly two distinct individuals - especially if you compare Jesus in the Quran vs Jesus from the Bible. When someone tries to say that they taught the same (Jesus vs Mohammed) or that they are the same (God vs. Allah), they clearly either have not studied the characters, or they are actively trying to decieve you.

You would be devout too... ;)

Those who leave Islam are killed in most Islamic nations; Those who leave the true Church of Jesus Christ are allowed to do so with no revenge.

Yes, my sister WarriorAngel, I guess I'd call myself devout. Though I try to remain modest I do have a strong desire to seek and run after God. Yet, studying other religions has fascinated me. I try to have a least a basic understanding of another faith before I begin to engage someone's beliefs. Things like terms and definitions help, that way you are not seen as a babbling fool.

If you can eloquently talk to someone using terms and sources that they are familiar with then it is more likely that they will actually listen to you and mabye give you the time of day. Here is a link to some notes that I've made for an apologetics class I led this semester in college. These notes are primarially a study primer, to get people started and introduced to Apologetics and Islam.
