  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If there was one thing you really wish Jesus could spell out very clearly for modern Christians... What would that be?
2 Things

1) The fate of unbelievers who never had the chance to hear the Gospel because they lived on other side of the world etc. Saint Paul speculates on this in one of the epistles.. Some people have also said this kind of thing not being covered might be deliberate on God's part (lots of possibility of people gaming the system when they know how things work).

2) The notion that sins of thought are as bad as sins of deed, basically taking Jesus preaching very literal. Jesus speaks very strongly against sins of heart like lusting after women etc. The one problem I see as that some people get bad ideas from this sort of thing. Sins of deed are definitely worse than those that are in our head and heart when it comes to the damage to society and just how it affects other people, leading to more problems like desires for revenge, bitterness and so on.
