I read a lot of information about the second coming of Christ from a website. Since I cant post links Ill post the information. Could someone verify or share your feelings on this?

Its a lot of information, if you have the time please read it, I fine that it all seems to make sense.
The second coming of Christ and the end of the world as we now know it

The Second Coming, the return of Christ to Jerusalem, and the end of the world (end of the age) alluded to by Messiah Jesus Christ, could occur as soon as the year 2011. Final settlement of the middle east conflict over Jerusalem and the temple mount, was scheduled for complete and final settlement by September 15, 2000 by the Sharm Memorandum signed by Israel and the PLO on September 5, 1999. Agreement on the permanent status of Jerusalem, including the temple mount and the Dome of the Rock, has been elusive due to the intransigence of the parties involved. This volatile situation will be solved, and could result in the covenant or agreement described in Chapter 9, verse 27, of the Book of Daniel that Christ referenced in Chapter 24 of the Book of Matthew. This treaty could start the 7 year countdown to the end of the age (not the "end of the world")-resulting in the construction of the third temple on Mount Moriah and the mid-point "abomination of desolation" that Christ described. The battle of Armageddon will be at the end of this seven year period. We will have to watch developments in the Middle East and be aware of the Third Temple teachings of Scripture. An event such as war, terrorism, an earthquake, etc. may be the catalyst in the rebuilding of the Temple.
Jesus said "watch" for His coming, and that is the purpose of this site, constructed in September of 1999. We will also diligently and logically examine the Scripture that is related to this great event! God has said that His temple will be built during this last 7 year period and is THE sure sign of His return. The prophesied regathering of the Jewish people into a reborn Israel in 1948 and their regaining control of Jerusalem in 1967 are sure signs that this is the last generation (40 to 80 years) that Christ said would see His return. This generation will also witness the anti christ, the abomination of desolation, and the great tribulation-all end time subjects of Bible prophesy. Believers and non-believers, Jews and gentiles alike, are invited to check into this site periodically to keep up with the latest developments in all of the world events related to the Messiah's coming. BE SURE AND CHECK LATEST UPDATES AT jerusalem temple.

First The Rebuilt Third Temple And Then The Return Of Messiah Jesus Christ

We are not "setting" a date for our Lord's Second Coming; we are "watching" for the date. There are many beliefs on this subject, and Scripture is clear that no man will ever know the exact day or hour until it occurs. Nevertheless, the Bible makes it clear that we can know the generation or lifetime during which it will occur. The Bible relates the return of Christ to an agreement, covenant, or league that will occur 7 years before His return, and an "abomination of desolation" occurring at the 3 1/2 year midpoint in the third temple built as a result of the agreement. These two events pinpoint the second coming of Christ within the "lifetime" that Jesus referred to in Matthew 24:34. Before we start on the Scripture related to this momentous event, let's discuss the recent Sharm Agreement signed by Israel and the Palestinians.

In showing that the Bible expressly declares that God has given all of Jerusalem, including the temple mount, to the Jews forever, we are not siding with either party in their other differences. Both sides have contributed to their problems and the result is so complex and difficult that only God can-and will-solve it.

The Last Seven Years of This Age and the Return Of Christ

The Book of Daniel is the widest ranging prophetic Book in the Bible. It foretells the four major empires of the world-the Babylonian, Medo-Persian, Greek, and Roman. It covers a time span from the the time of Daniel, the sixth century BC, to the very end of this age. Christ authenticated the Book of Daniel in Matt. 24:19. The last seven years of this age, immediately preceeding the Return of Messiah Jesus Christ, is discussed elsewhere in Scripture, but is most definitively described in the ninth chapter of Daniel, and especially the following four verses:

"Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy. "Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times. "And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate." (Daniel 9:24-27 NKJV)

When asked about the sign of His return, Christ gave the following reply:

"Therefore when you see the `abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. (Matthew 24:15-16 NKJV)

The signs at the beginning and mid-point of this seven year period are the signs that will tell the Biblical Christians when our Lord will return. These signs require a Jewish presence on the temple mount to offer the "sacrifice and offering" mentioned above. Once these sacrifices have started, you may be sure that we are in this last seven year period. Now, let's look at these key verses of Daniel:

The "seventy weeks" are seventy heptads, or seventy sevens of years totaling 490 years. The jews of that day used the word "week" to denote a quantity of 7 just as we currently use the word "dozen" for a quantity of 12. Within these "weeks" the national chastisement must be ended and the nation re-established in everlasting righteousness (Da 9:24).

The seventy weeks are divided into seven = 49 years; sixty-two = 434 years; one = 7 years (vs. 25-27). In the seven weeks =49 years, Jerusalem was to be rebuilt in "troublesome times." This was fulfilled, as Ezra and Nehemiah record. Sixty-two weeks = 434 years, thereafter Messiah was to come (Da 9:25). This was fulfilled in the prophesied manifestation of Christ as Messiah. (Zech. 9:9 & Matt. 21:4-5)

Da 9:26 is obviously an indeterminate period. The date of the crucifixion is not fixed. It is only said to be "after" the threescore and two weeks. It is the first event in Da 9:26. The second event is the destruction of the city, fulfilled in A.D. 70. Then, "unto the end," a period not fixed, but which has already lasted nearly 2000 years. To Daniel, it was revealed only that wars and desolations should continue (cf. Mt 24:6-14.) The New Testament reveals that which was hidden from the O.T. prophets (Mt 13:11-17 & Eph 3:1-10) that during this period should be accomplished the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven (Mt 13:1-50) and the out-calling of the Church (Mt 16:18 & Ro 11:25). When the Church-age will end, and the seventieth week begins, is nowhere revealed.

The last seven years will begin with an internationally recognized agreement that gives Israel all or part of the temple mount thereby permitting construction of the temple or altar that will allow the sacrifice and oblation mentioned in Dan. 9:27. This agreement could be a result of the Sharm Memorandum negotiations between Israel and the PLO. The duration of the seventieth week can only be seven years. To make it more violates the principle of interpretation already confirmed by fulfillment. Da 9:27 deals with the last week and the abomination of desolation by the anti-christ at the midpoint of this seven year period. At the middle of the week he will break the covenant and fulfill Da 12:11 & 2Th 2:3,4. Between the sixty-ninth week, after which Messiah was cut off, and the seventieth week, within which the "little horn" of Dan. 7 will run his awful course, intervenes this entire Church-age. Da 9:27 deals with the last three and a half years of the seven, which are identical with the "great tribulation."-Mt 24:15-28, "time of trouble"-Da 12:1, & "hour of temptation"-Re 3:10.

Hi there!

The problems on the Temple Mount have not been resolved, but in fact, are more serious over time. The excavations by the Muslims have never been authorized by the Israeli Antiquities, creating more problems. The Islamic control has attempted to remove any evidences of Jewish sacrifices on the Temple Mount, therefore, discrediting the site for any type of Jewish usage or possible worship.

A Jew who worships on the Temple Mount is arrested.... no Bibles are allowed on the Temple Mount...

"This volatile situation will be solved...."

probably not.

Ah yes, I read something like that a while back. Its scarey but I can see it happening. The whole cashless society... ez-pass, credit cards, metro cards... I really think that Christ will be coming back within 50 years.
Hi there!

Christ could be on his way to earth right now. The trump could be sounding and we don't hear it yet.

There should be an urgency among Christians to see people saved, but that urgency has been lost to complacency.

The part of the discussion that will be hard to overcome is the continued excavations and dumping of "evidences" in the Kidron Valley, and the insistence by muslims that there has NEVER been any blood sacrifices by the Jews on the Mount.

On the Second Coming of Christ
Ch. 15 from The Truth of Our Faith:: A Discourse from Holy Scripture on the
Teachings of True Christianity, By Elder Cleopa of Romania

Inquirer: Father, what can you tell us about the exact date of the Second Coming of Christ?

Elder Cleopa: Christ’s true Church provides us with a number of apt testimonies which show that God did not entrust this date to anyone, neither to angels, nor to men, nor even to His own Son as man.
Listen to the divine words of Scripture on the subject:

“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be . . . Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the good man of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh . . . ” (Mat. 24:36-51)

If neither the angels in heaven nor the Son of Man Himself as man know the appointed time, how is it possible for it to be known among men? From the words of the Saviour it is understood only that we must be ever vigilant and mindful of our salvation, ever ready for the coming of the Lord, for we know neither the day nor the hour of His coming, nor even the hour of our own end in this life. His appearance will be unexpected, as the Lord forewarned us when he said, “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh.” (Mat. 25:13)

Inq.: It is true that at first the Apostles didn’t know the exact date of the Second Coming of the Saviour (Mat. 24:36), however, from the time they were strengthened from on high at the descent of the Holy Spirit they were made aware of all. For, as the Saviour foretold, by the Holy Spirit all the mysteries were revealed: “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come” (Jn. 16:12-13). From the time of the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost the Apostles, as well as all faithful Christians, with the illumination and wisdom given them by the Holy Spirit, were made able to know “all truth.” In other words, they became aware of the entirety of the divine plan for the history of the world and its end, and thus were able to determine through Holy Scripture the events of the future, such as the date of the Second Coming. Isn’t such a determination possible?

EC: William Miller calculated that, according to Scripture between the first of March 1843 and the first of March 1844 the Second Coming of Christ would take place. He had announced this date from as early as 1833 in the brochure “Prophecy from Holy Scripture of the Second Coming of the Lord in the year 1843.” Another prophet, Joseph Chimes, had proposed in the journals “The Voice of Midnight” (1842) and “The Bell of Danger” that the Lord would come in the year 1843.
The closest disciple of Miller, a Mr. Snow, decided to add to the “prophecy” of Miller another seven months and ten days, predetermining the date of the Second Coming of the Lord as the tenth of October 1844. He was also put to ridicule along with his teacher. Those who believed their pronouncements spent their fortunes, handing out all they had and buying white garments and candles in order to go out and meet the Lord. It’s possible that the shop windows were even filled then with white garments for those travelling to heaven on the tenth of October 1844. Yet, this day passed like all others. The so-called “prophets” became the recipients of every kind of shame, derision and mockery from those deluded people who had scattered their fortunes trusting in the false prophecies.
From these pitiful experiences we must at least come to understand that the promise of our Saviour Jesus Christ concerning the revelation of the future by the Holy Spirit did not refer to the date of the Second Coming, as it appeared to many, but rather to prophecies pertaining to various events and signs due to come to pass in the Church. For, indeed, there have been revelations through the Holy Spirit, as we see, for example, in the Book of Revelation and other books of Holy Scripture. These revelations contain a variety of eschatological teachings (on the appearance of the Antichrist, of the false prophets, the unleashing of the persecutions of Christians), as well as the indispensable wisdom of the Apostles which enabled them to present the divine teachings when they were led to give a defence before their accusers (Mat. 10:19-20). These are the future events of which the Saviour speaks in the text that you read.

Inq.: The Apostle Paul writes: “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness” (1 Thess. 5:4-5). From these words it follows that Christians can and should know the exact date of the Second Coming in order to be ready to accept it.

EC: Why have you read from only verses four and five of chapter five from First Thessalonians, leaving out verses one and two which serve to interpret verses four and five? Listen to what the Apostle Paul says there: “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night” (1 Thess. 5:1-2). This is the truth to which the Christ’s Church has remained faithful. The true Church teaches, equally with the Apostle Paul, that the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night and that no one knows the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man will come.
It is possible only for the approach of the Second Coming to be known by the signs which must come before:

~ The preaching of the Gospel throughout the world. (Mat. 24:15)
~ The turn of the Jews to Christianity after the preaching of the Gospel in the entire world. (Rom. 11:25-34)
~ The appearance of the Antichrist, also called the man of iniquity or the beast, together with his representatives, pseudo-Christs, false prophets, and every type of false wonder worked by the power of Satan in order to deceive the people. The Antichrist will sit in the place of God acting as if he were God and as an unrelenting beast he will pursue with all rage and furore the chosen servants of God. (1 Jn. 2:18; 2 Thess. 2:3-11; Rev. 13:1-8, 20:1-10; Mat. 24:9)
~ The multiplication of wickedness and the growing cold of love between men, hatred and betrayal of one another. (Mat. 24:10-12)
~ A torrent of bloodshed, wars and rumours of wars between nations, people and states. (Mat. 24:6-7)
~ The appearance of calamities such as mass starvation, sicknesses etc. (Mat. 24:7-9)
~ The appearance of certain signs in the world such as the darkening of the sun and moon, the falling of stars from the sky, the passing away of heaven and earth.
~ The appearance in the heavens of the sign of the Son of Man, the True Cross, because this is the sign of victory of our Lord and no other sign so alerts us of His imminent arrival as does His Cross.

The Lord explains these signs thus: “Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors” (Mat. 24:32-33) Therefore, concerning the signs that will precede the Second Coming of the Lord, we have explanations and confirmation from the Saviour Himself, while of the exact date of His coming neither the angels nor even the Son of Man Himself, as man, are informed, but the Father alone knows.
Forgive me...

Anyone who predicts the day, hour, minute, second, etc... of Christ's return
is not giving true prophecy. Why? Because Christ said no man will know the time of His return.

Predictions? Yes. Truth? No.

Christ can return any time. Just be watching.

In Christ's Love,
Brian

I don't really care much for the article, for the reason that was pointed out 'it tries to predict the date too much' -- on the other hand, I do agree with the overall motive and point of this thread, which is to show, Christ is coming soon. Jesus said, "No man knows the hour" this is to say that we will never know the exact hour, minute and second of the coming of Christ. He did say however, that we would be able to tell the end-times by the signs that would precede it "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet" wars and rumors of wars will precede the end. This paves the way for the antichrist and his campaign of "peace" -- I don't know what's going to happen or when it will, but I do know that Christ is in control. He didn't ask me to predict, or try and learn things that I can't know, His commandment was to "watch" and I think that's all we should do.

I think it's very normal to be thinking about the rapture, God's 2nd coming, and the end times. In fact that's something that has been in my mind. We don't know when God is coming so don't pay too much attention to people or certain things that are setting dates of God's actual coming...and yes in the Bible there are end time signs and many of them have been fulfilled. Christ's coming for us first, which is the rapture could happen any second now or maybe a thousand years from now we don't know...but if you are really interested i'm reading a book that is biblical based written by two christian authors called, "Are you Rapture Ready" by Todd Strandberg and Terry James. It will answer a lot of your questions. Here are some verses for you--

Matthew 24:36 - "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only."

Matthew 25:13- "...for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming"

Matthew 24:42- "Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming"

1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 - "For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and reamain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meed the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord."

1 Corinthians 15:51-52 - "Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed"
