I have been a christian for 21 years. When I was first saved I had an intense desire to know God. I was hungry for the word and I studied it every spare moment. I had struggles. My walk was up and down. down and up. I studied hard and got a decent job. I was carried away by the cares of the world. I am a single man and all I wanted from God was a godly mate. I grew angry with God when this so-called need wasn't met. As I have walked I have seen God love and patience towards me time and time again.
This has birthed in me a real love for Jesus. Lately my walk has been filled with his presence.
I can say from my heart....Jesus is all we need.

If Jesus were all I needed, I wouldn't need Jesus.

If Jesus is all I need, then the Father and the Spirit are null and void. Therefor, Jesus' purpose is null and void. He also is a liar, for He said He would send the Spirit to comfort us. Jesus Himself did not believe He was all we need.

Careful.

Peace.

Peter

Between Christians the phrase “Jesus is all I need” means for Salvation there is nothing else. Surely we need more that Jesus spiritually. We need God the Father, we need the Holy Spirit to guide us. We need the Word to teach us. We need worshipping with the saints. There is lots and lots of stuff we need. We need for our soul peace, love, friendship and many more. For our bodies we need food, clothing and care.

Whenever anyone hears a Christian says ‘Jesus is all I need’ don’t misunderstand. We need nothing else for Salvation. We use this phrase as kind of praise for all what Jesus did for us.

But we don't rely on Jesus alone for salvation. Salvation is initiated by the Father, realized in the Son, and completed in the Holy Spirit. We are saved through the Holy Trinity. I need all Three for salvation.

Yes. You'll find it the same for all other christians.

When we have Jesus we also have the Father and the Holy Spirit as well. Do you believe you can have a member of the trinity without the others being involved?
Save the controversy for the debate forum.
This forum is for deeper fellowship and I find debate counter productive to this thread. I will gladly prove my prior statement from scripture if you wish....but not in this forum.

Amen, Brother Larry.

All gatherings of Christians are for the glory of the Father. All threads of CF are for the witnessing of the grace of Christ. Only Jesus name be lifted by all mouths. Amen.
/sigh

I was hoping for a refuge from trivial debate. If there is an outright violation of the apostle's creed I can see the need to correct it. I do grow weary of endless contoversies sometimes. God has equiped me to defend what I beleive however. See how the thread has grown out of focus?
I like Jn 20:20...it keeps our vision 20/20

John 20:20
20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they SAW the Lord.
KJV

I am glad when I can see the Lord also...in all things
