  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi there!

I think one of the greatest books I read in the last year was "Jesus Freaks" by DC talk.... It hit home on the number of people who have given their lives for to further Christianity. The most impressive account, and the one that seemed to impact me the most was the narrative that describes the death of John Mark.

I have read reviews that indicate that many feel the books were against Catholicism, but I don't think that any denomination has a monopoly of "martyrs".

Yeah that is a fantastic book. Helped me a lot when I read it. Im reading the sequel now, thats just as good as the first one.
I dont know why people bother saying things inflammatory about books like this one. Either theyre very oversensitive, or they just want to cause trouble. The book is about martyrs and what theyve done for the kingdom of God on this earth. Who cares what denomination these people were from, or who they were going against. The only thing that matters is who they were doing it for.

I've only read the second one. I can't seem to find the first one. I thought it was a great book!! I just couldn't put down and before I knew it I was done with it. The stories were so gripping and written so well. I'd like to reread it soon. But still in search of the first one.
