Jesus Cake

Ingredients:
Have no other Gods in your life.
Don't put anything between you and God to represent Him.
Don't use His name in vain.
Remember to keep the seventh day holy.
Honor your father and mother.
Do not murder.
Do not commit adultery.
Don't steal.
Don't bear false witness.
Don't covet.

Mix it all together in a human life and live it out to produce a Jesus cake.

When people get a taste of your life they will taste a Jesus cake. But if one of the ingredients is missing people will say it don't taste right.

I recommend we start calling the Eucharist wafers Jesus cakes.

That being said, I disagree. The Ten Commandments were never enough. Without Jesus, the TC are just a set of rules to show humans their own sins.

The TC are not enough. You need the Holy Spirit and the love of Christ, and most importantly his redemptive power.

Let's say that you're living a life style of lying, stealing and sex. Then one day you hear a SDA preacher speak of God's love and forgiveness and how by violating God's Law we violate principles of godly love. All of a sudden you're convicted to the core of your life style. But then the SDA preacher reminds you of God's true eternal nature of love and forgiveness. Does this somehow make your life of lying, stealing and sex okay?

How about the fourth commandment where God tells His people to remember the seventh day to keep it holy. Does this revelation of truth somehow make forgetting the Sabbath okay now?

Does the fact that Law revealing human sin somehow make that sin okay now?

The TC are not enough. You need the Holy Spirit and the love of Christ, and most importantly his redemptive power.

You won't find one SDA that says the TC is all you need.

The TC define godly love at it's basic level. Every sin and crime committed in the world has it's root in God's Law and every sin and crime committed in the world has it's motive outside of godly love.

Don't put words in my mouth over such a small post. I never said that those sins become okay. I was merely stating that the TCs will never save you. Without the Holy Spirit, the TC is nothing more than a mirror to show you your own sins.

Of course, the Holy Spirit will not contradict the TCs either.
