Jerry Falwell Jr: My family has ‘guns in their hands’ in case Ocasio-Cortez ‘tries to take our cows’

Wow! Just when I think it can't go to another level - it goes to another level! LOL

He's a leader of a very large organization yet he thinks:
1. AOC is going to show up to take cows away from him (and that she even has the means to do so either figuratively or literally)
AND
2. He needs guns to protect himself and his cows from the government

Unbelievable! Hilarious and tragic at once, to me...

As someone who believes in that Deity, I can tell you that is precisely why I don't feel the need to have any gun to protect myself or my loved ones. I think it speaks volumes about the Falwells and others who like to stockpile weaponry for protection.

I'm not sure what I just read in that article. The whole lot of it was wackadoodle mush.

From thinking boys are born with guns in hand to thinking a freshman congresswoman is going to steal cows, someone clearly is a number of pieces shy of a full box of chocolates.

Most of us do just fine without being paranoid about everything. The ones that are tend to be folks like Falwell, on the fringes.

Yes, in America, the loudest voices in Christianity are usually the ones that tend to occupy the fringe. Regular Joe Christians tend to instead be concerned with things like paying off their mortgage or paying rent, or worrying about medical expenses, or other normal things. They go to church, go to work, pay their taxes, and get embarrassed by folks like Falwell.

He said he had a hundred cows and he'd like to see her try to take them away. If she had her way and did eliminate cattle farming, the cows would have to be shot and butchered. So...

Farmers like to talk tough, but you have to realize the pressure on them to make ends meet is out of control right now with regulations and diet fads and animal rights people. There is a persistent drive amongst the Democratic Party to penalize and tax and shut down family farms.

I worked on a farm and really enjoyed it most of the time.The cows caused themselves more pain that any person - getting themselves sick by laying on the floor instead of the beds and getting stuck between the bars of the fences.... They have the intelligence of squirrels.

All that to say, it's dumb of people to threaten violence over dumb animals, but they also have families to feed and our leaders are very much out of touch with the reality of what farming is like.

I agree that Christians who are all about owning guns and threatening to use them on others are... well I'm not sure if many of them really are Christians.

I brought that EXACT point up before: Why are Christians so gun happy? We don't have to be happy about death but Paul welcomed it and as christians, if we die in our faith we are covered by grace; so what do we have to be SCARED about?

I bring that up on this site. It tends to be met with "yeah buts..." or silence.

I also recall a verse somewhere or another about not murdering....or something about living and dying by a sword....

For a group of people who believe they have God in their corner, some conservatives sure have their moral priorities mixed up when they believe that owning a gun is their God-given American right, but having adequate healthcare and obtaining a college education for a better paying job is a privilege.
