  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Fascinating post I must say. Here's an interesting question then:

Do people think a Christian husband could, say, be a judge at a beauty pageant? :pOr say, a photographer, where a regular part of his job is to analyze his sometime female subjects, in order to get them looking as fine as they can be? :p I know some Christian guys who do, and I dont think i would question there character, knowing them as i do.

And yet the very nature of the job is to admire the female form. I'm not going to answer my own question, except to say that if i were totally honest, it probably would be wrong for me personally. Just because I know how much enjoyment I'd get out of doing it! ;)
Again, there is a difference between appreciating beauty and ogling. Judging Miss America pageants is one thing, judging your local bar's bikini contest is another. Professional jobs are one thing, exploiting as a business is another. I'm sure the Christian guys you mentioned can distinguish between the two.

If you feel it is wrong for you personally, it is good that you realize it. Everyone has their vices. :)

Astronaut you crack me up!

I think it's every Christian has to be conscious of his (or her) feelings and what he (or she) is struggling with. Once you are aware of what you struggle with, then you have to decide what to do about it.

Personally, me and my wife are fine if one of us say "oh he's cute" or "she's cute", because we know that it's just an observation. I would rather have my wife be blunt with me then to wonder what is going on inside her head. My wife knows how I feel about her and how I feel about being faithful to her. If my wife had a problem with me doing something, I would try my hardest to stop out of respect for her and our covenant to each other.
