Romans 8:38-39 - I have become absolutely convinced that neither death nor life, neither messenger of Heaven nor monarch of earth, neither what happens today nor what may happen tomorrow, neither a power from on high nor a power from below, nor anything else in God's whole world has any power to separate us from the love of God in Jesus Christ our Lord! No matter what translation one uses, it is clear that there is nothing, in life or death, that can seperate the Christian from the Love of God. But not so when it comes to seperating one Christian from the love of another. There are two things, in life that can do it quicker than lightening: Pride and jealousy.
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
We must keep our focus, and know who and what we are in Jesus and care not that others have a higher or lower position than we do. We need to understand that we are all given a job to do and that we must be busy in the doing of it.
May Jesus help us to keep our eyes on Him and not on others. May we understand that it is by His Grace that we are what we are, and that no one else can take our place, nor can we fill the shoes of another. God in His wisdom has made us all different.
If we keep our eyes on Jesus, jealousy and pride will have no place in our lives.
