So, Chloe just had her 2nd birthday.  We bought her a Power Wheels Jeep.  I am soooooo jealous!  I wanted one of those so bad when I was a kid, and never even got to drive one, much less own one.  And you know, the fact that I have my own big kid real truck doesn't compare with how cool it would have been to have a Power Wheel.  (And the fact my payments are more than the one time cost of the Power Wheel is kind of a bummer too...)

Yes, my daughter is spoiled.  What's a dad to do?  ;)

LOL! That sounds so cool!

I always wanted an Easy Bake Oven when I was a kid. I still to this day do not know why no one ever bought me one. I bought one last year for my daughter she really wasn't too interested in it, but man did I ever cook up a storm!! :D

Too bad you can't ride your daughter's jeep it is so much fun to play with these things when you are grown up.

I woulda LOVED one of those things as a kid. I had to make due with a Big Wheel though.

I always wanted a Barbie Dream House when I was a kid but my poor ole single mom could not afford one. Then I made a Barbie house out of old carboard boxes, put carpet samples on the floors and painted all the walls in it. The joy of what I made myself way surpassed what I woulda got out of a plastic house.

OOOH I am rambling...

I know a kid who got one of those little power wheel things and her mom caught her in the garage with a gas can trying to "fill it up." Scarey!

E-beth, I did get a Big Wheel. But you had to peddle those. And I always wore out the tires by skidding on the asphalt. Wow, now that I think about it, I probably would have been a terror in a Power Wheel.

VOW, I plan on spending Chloe's teenage years either on the golf course or on the lake. I figure that way she'd at least have to make an effort to find me in order to annoy and frustrate me.

To DJ:

Your plan of "hiding" sounds workable. I just threatened to lock my daughter in her room until she turned 21.

I've found that 14 is the magic age. Those hormones hit, and that beautiful, clever, charming little girl moves out of your house, and this raging, sobbing, screaming banshee moves in.

Fourteen or 15 is the age when your sweet, cuddly, adorable little boy moves out, and an angry, roaring, sulking, STINKING, swearing monster takes up residence in his room.

Recalling all that gave me a migraine. I need to go lie down in a dark, quiet room............

Peace and Imitrex,

I have no idea what a Power Wheel is but it sure does sound like fun. Personally, I always wanted a magic wand, but I never got it. Nor will I be able to fullfill this dream with my child because I have a boy who would definately use it as a sword or some other destructive devise. What a bummer!

Power Wheels are miniature replica cars and trucks that kids up to 65 pounds can drive.  They are mechanized and go about 3-4 MPH.

My daughter likes her Jeep, but hasn't quite got the grasp on the concept of steering yet.  Our back fence is taking a beating.
