So, does anyone have a review on Jars new album? I bought Zoo and loved it, bought Much Afraid and didn't really get into it. I'm "Much Afraid" to buy another album.

The only album I have by Jars of Clay is If I Left the Zoo

The only one I've got is the s/t debut.

I like JOC though. Don't know why I haven't bought any of their newer stuff.

Jars of Clay is my favorite band in the whole world so I'm very biased toward them, but as a Jars fan I have to admit that If I Left the Zoo is my least favorite album, but it's still good. Honestly there is no other Jars album that sounds like that one. Their first LP and Much Afraid are similiar, but IILTZ has its own sound as does the 11th Hour, Furthermore, and Who We are Instead. Their last album has some blues funk in it with alot of acoustic melodies. I love them all, but if you are looking for something similar to IILTZ, you might be hard pressed to find it with Jars. They reinvent themselves with each album.
