Didn't he do a debate series against Dave Hunt?

I've listened to several James White audio.. he's quite good

He wrote a book (Debating Calvinism) and then did two radio programs with Dave Hunt, but that has been the extent of their debating interaction. In the radio debate/interview, Hunt stated that he had never read the Reformers (no surprise), and then a couple of months later, he came out with his book thrashing the Reformers.

I have found his site and articles very informative and useful, particularly when dealing with Mormonism.

I read James' blog just about every day. If you look at today's blog he has some good comments on the Bible-zine fad.

I also got a copy of his book Scripture Alone last Christmas. Very good explanation and defense of Sola Scriptura.
