  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sadly I've only ever seen this and the Peirce era movies. So I can't give any comments about how he compares to Sean Connery. But I have to say that this was a great movie and despite my fears I felt it lived up very well to all the hype.

Seeing this one actually makes me want to go check out the old Connery ones so I can compare.

I've not seen the new one yet but I've heard good things about it.

My only gripe has to be something unrelated to the current movie where Daniel Craig (is that the new Bond?) said in an interview that he would like to do a gay scene in the next movie. I've heard he's done one or a couple in a few other movies. All I can say to that is... no.

I am a huge James Bond fan, have seen every movie except the newest one and the one with George Lazenby... having seen Daniel Craig in other movies, I fully expect him to be excellent as Bond... but there will never be another Bond like Sean Connery... he *is* Bond.
I was pleasently surprised by the reviews because I was expecting everyone to say it was a horrible movie...

It was pretty good, good in that you get to see Bond not as the usual confident, ultra smooth, infalliable super secret agent. The only time you see him like this is at the very end when he says his name. It did seem to drag on a little bit, from the middle to the end, didn't have a nice flow, as far as movies go. Otherwise I thought Daniel Craig was a fine Bond.

This is actually not true. That was a referrence to another movie he is in, NOT James Bond.

Actually, you can find several articles of him discussing how he wants to do a gay Bond complete with full frontal nude scene.

" The revolution will not be televised. It will be in cinemas. And if Daniel Craig has anything to say about it, it will be gay. The new James Bond is lobbying to refresh the decades-old franchise by including a love scene involving Bond and another dude in the follow-up to Casino Royale. Craig is even willing to go full frontal, if need be. “Why not?” he says. “I think in this day and age, fans would have accepted it.” Whether the companies whose product placements litter the screen would enjoy it might be another matter. Hell, I think it’s a good idea regardless. Bond movies have gotten so formulaic and corny that anything that breaks the monotony is welcome. However, I shudder to think of what future Bond boys will be named, considering the gems they came up with for the women.

Luckily, he has no say to what goes into Bond films. So hopefully, this will be left out.
