James 2:24

"Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only."

If one were to accept the doctrine of Justification by Faith Alone, how does that line up with the words of James, be he one of the Apostles or the Lord's Own brother?

For reference, the Greek:
ὁρᾶτε τοίνυν ὅτι ἐξ ἔργων δικαιοῦται ἄνθρωπος καὶ οὐκ ἐκ πίστεως μόνον.
and the Latin:
Videtis quoniam ex operibus justificatur homo, et non ex fide tantum?

James is talking about Justification before man and Paul in Romans and his letters talks about justification before God.

Exactly. Just like in Ephesians 2:8-10, faith comes first and is followed by works.

It would directly contradict the words of the Apostle James.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

It is by works that you are approved by God. That is why James says that works are vital to your salvation and that faith alone cannot save you:

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can faith save you?

No, says the Apostle, faith alone can't save you. Neither does belief. "Even the demons believe" (James 2:19), but they are not saved.

An obedience that comes from faith. A righteousness that is by faith from first to last. The righteous will live by faith. Faith that the Spirit of God lives within you because of the Work of Jesus. Who lives and dwells in union with God and you.

Here is the work, God has called all to the door (Jesus) and says 'come to me that you may have life'. Your 'work' is to come to him, THIS is the command given by God for all mankind. Those who 'believe' are filled with the Spirit of God who does his Works through you. Like God did through Yeshua. Who did nothing for himself but only what God showed him to do. And all that Jesus did witnessed about Himself. Because all that God does is reveal the righteousness that comes as a gift.

We say yes to Messiah by the power of God and then He comes to live and dwell in us to do all the good works that God has planned for us. God does the works, we believe, and he comes to work in us. How else do you think love exists in this world? By your own power and might? lol
