If I had a clue that my thread about Jalen Hurts giving praise to the Lord would have caused expressions of division and strife on Christianforums.com ... then I probably wouldn't have started the thread.
I recommend posting a thread like this in the Christians-Only section of the board next time. That might give you a more edifying result.

I do appreciate seeing this though; it reminds me of Kurt Warner back in my younger days and the chess player Wesley So. Christian athletes who are witnessing for Christ are to be encouraged.

For the record the “haha” isn’t mocking you. I actually found this post funny. lol
I’m pretty sure that thanking one’s deity for accomplishments and blessings is “normal”, as such, not news unless there’s a heartfelt-backstory, which this story probably has.

Sure!

I don't think God really cares about football, but that's just me.

But that would mean God isnt American.
God ISN'T American.

Remember the story of Jonah? God cared about those Ninevites, and not just the Israelites.

I dont know about the actual existence of God. But real or not, I was convinced that the term, capitalized, refers to a universal deity.

But increasingly it seems the God people refer to is a national or tribal deity. Now the Bible has our country's founding documents within its covers.

With 100% disagreement, I do strongly disagree that the God Whom 99.9% of Christian people refer to in a way making the Lord God a national or tribal deity.

Especially since we already have one (in the making).
