  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lord, I have wrestled through the livelong night.
Do not depart, Nor leave me thus in sad and weary plight,
Broken in heart;Where shall I turn,If Thou shouldst go away,
And leave me here in this cold world to stay?
I have no other help, no food, no light No hand to guide.
The night is dark, my home is not in sight, The path untried;
I dare not venture in the dark alone-
I cannot find my way, if Thou be gone.
I cannot yet discern Thee, as Thou art;
More let me see, I cannot bear the
thought that I must pass Away from Thee:
I will not let Thee go, except Thou Bless.
O, help me Lord, in all my helplessness.

Gerry,
That seems so sad. Are you ok? May God bless you with his loving peace and strength of joy.

Thanks Brother! I appreciate your love and concern. I did not mean to get so heavy. The Truth is I have never been so happy in all my life!

I have hung on to Him and He had Blessed me!

Thanks Amie! Your love and blessings are much appreciated indeed. And what you have sai is so right. The broken hearted seek Him most. But do you know, He is oh so easy to find, when you seek Him through a broken heart!

But then Jesus is like that, isn't He! :clap:

Gerry this Jocobs’s prayer falls into the same category as the one David prayed. Its beautiful. Thanks for sharing

Hide not Your face from my sins.
And blot out all my iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God;
And renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from Your presence;
And take not the Holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
And uphold me with a willing spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors Your ways;
And sinners shall be converted unto You.
Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God,
God of my salvation;
And my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.

Oh, I also prayed a ‘lamenting’ prayer once. Someone did a horrible thing to me and I nearly died spiritually. So in that time I wrote this prayer. I so badly wanted to end my live, but God forbids.

Consider my trouble

I am forgotten as a dead: I am like a broken vessel.
My enemy persecutes my soul
He treads down my life upon the earth,
And lay my honor in the dust.

How long shall I take counsel in my soul?
having sorrow in my heart daily?
how long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
For he cast iniquity upon me, and in anger he hates me.

For the enemy have persecuted my soul
He has infatuated my life down to the ground
He have made me to dwell in darkness,
as those that have been long dead.

Have mercy upon me, O LORD
Consider my trouble, which I suffer of them that hates me
Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemy
Cut off my enemy, and destroy them that afflict my soul
For I am Your servant.

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart
He knows my soul in misfortune
I will be glad and rejoice in His mercy
for He has considered my trouble;

You are oh so right! They are both of the same heart.
But of all the prayers of David I cannot believe you picked this one to post. Oh how I cried this prayer.

Oh YES! Thank You Father that You that when we confess our sins you are faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Than You Father for creating in us a clean heart and renewing a right spirit in us. Thank You for Your promise to never forsake us or leave us and for giving us the assurance and comfort of The Holy Spirit. Yes Father, Stengthen us and use us to spread the Good News to sinners and save then , thereby restoring to us the Joy of Your salvation. Forgive us the blood of those we have failed, and I lift my heart to You in Praise, now and Forever!

This lamenting prayer is a gut wrenching prayer. I pray you have forgiven the person who did the horrible thing to you. For to carry such a burden would be a heavy load indeed.

It is clear you are no longer forgotten or broken, and God has lifted you up and healed you and set you free. Indeed He has considered your trouble and has blessed you, and has made you into a blessing to so many others. Blessed be the Name of the Lord and you are ever in my prayers.
