Anybody got this feeling? That you died 5 years ago, and you are walking around in a dead world, till you accept the reality that you are dead and come to terms with it? And take the steps to acend into heaven and see the mighty gates open and see the bright light flow out and embrace you into total bliss. And realize that all our struggles here, all the joys, and all the drugs and other stuff, were just expiriences to teach you lessons your soul needed to learn, before you could enter into the real life. To rid you of all your overreactions in any feelings you were not the master over, in the past life, and now you have perfect peace and are ready to live dispassionate in harmonious bliss with only love overflowing. Every other emotion in balance and check.
Or do you subscribe to what Scott Adams believes, that we are living in a simulation, and perhaps even a simulation, of a simulation, of a simulation, and on and on and on? Which is interesting, but also makes it pointless, and all we can do is to enjoy ourselves while being here. Which is totally opposite of jacobs ladder theory from the bible, and the talmud, but also very much the same. Both result in no fear, dispassion, and personal evolution, regardless if we are a sould, or simply a computerprogram being run in some sort of a supercomputers server, in such a complex system, we can never understand it, or beat the system to find the answer of what it all is. And we are left with a, I do not know conclusion. Can we perhaps collectivise and program together, and end up in some sort of a matrix reality? And seeing as we saw how the Matrix ended, would you even want to? Blissful ignorance, or informed in a desolate world, with famine and all sorts of mess?
If you reply, it would be helpful to state your faith also. Other religion may have other takes. There is some analogous teaching in buddhism I know. Going through pointlessness, living it, to find meaning. Living through hell to get to heaven. Living in darkness to see the light.
