In this post I want to explore the types and shadows given to us in Joseph, and in his brethren. Many stories in the Bible are given to as signs of things to come not only in Jesus, but also in the children of Israel. No need to respond to this post, because it really has no specific point, but it is more of an exercise of the mind of the Spirit.


Genesis 37:23;"And it came to pass when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stripped Joseph (out of his coat,) his coat of many colors that was on him."

Zechariah 13:7;"Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of hosts: (smite the shepherd,) and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones."

Mark 14:27;"And Jesus said unto them, (All you shall be offended) because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered."

Genesis 37:33;"And he knew it, and said, It is my sons coat; an (evil beast) has devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces."

Leviticus 22:8;"That which dies of itself, or is (torn with beasts), he shall not eat to defile himself therewith: I am the Lord."

Ezekiel 5:17;"So will I send upon you famine and (evil beasts), and they shall bereave thee; and pestilance and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the Lord have spoken it."

2 Peter 2:12;"But these, as (natural brute beasts), made to be destroyed, speak evil of things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption."

Jeremiah 31:27;"Behold the days come, saith the Lord, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the (seed of man), and with the (seed of beast.")

Daniel 2:43;"And as thou saw (iron) mixed with miry (clay,) they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay."

Genesis 37:24;"And they took him, and cast him into the pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it."

Psalm 16:10;"For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption."

Genesis 37:28;"Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt."

Zechariah 11:12;"And I said unto them, If you think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed me my price thirty pieces of silver."

Mark 10:33;"Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles."

Ecclesiastes 4:14;"For out of prison he comes to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor."

Isaiah 24:22;"And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in prison, and after many days shall they be visited."

Isaiah 42:7;"To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house."

Isaiah 61:1;"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;"

Mark 16:12;"After that he appeared in (another form) unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country."

Genesis 42:16;"Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and you shall be (kept in prison,) that your words may be proved, whether there be any truth in you:"

Genesis 42:17;"And he put them all together into jail (three days.")

Jonah 1:17;"Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish (three days) and three nights."

Matthew 12:40;"For as Jonah was (three days) and three nights in the whales belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

Deuteronomy 21:17;"But he shall acknowledge the son of the(hated) for the (firstborn,) by giving him a (double portion) of all that he has: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the (firstborn) is his."

Exodus 13:11-13;"And it shall be when the Lord shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, as he sware by unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee, That thou shalt set apart unto the Lord all that opens the matrix, every (firstling) that comes of a (beast) which thou hast; the males shall be the Lord's."

13. "And every (firstling) of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the ( firstborn of man) among thy children shalt thou redeem."

Brother these are awesome! Amen! So right on too, really loved these! we do the same, writing in parts, or at least I know I do, if I write them in combination I have a hard time pulling out one from another and writing it aright, Im no good at that lol

1 Samuel 17:4;"And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span." 6 cubits x 18 inches per cubit= 108 inches, divided by 12 inches per foot= 9 feet + a span, which is 9 inches=( 9.9) feet.

I had written a poem around 20 years ago, I wasnt too good at it or anything, but simply because I did not know how to put into words (and didnt know I didnt have to do that) as now I prefer his (not mine) but I sorta fell back on at least trying (not knowing this) lol I sure was not really getting what I was writing at the time, only the signifiers. Heres a clip a portion of the poem in relation to the silver cup

Phil 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Gen 45:1 Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.

1Cr 9:1 Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?

Jesus was revealed to Paul diffently then the former who walked with him in the flesh, but could still say we know Him not after the flesh even though we have known him that way prior. However all of them went out from him when he made himself known to them.
