Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You are correct Kristen, Van Impe doesn't think the world will end, and that is probably the only point on which I agree with him. Everything else that he is talking about is out of context verses. He uses a well known debate technique, attempting to overwhelm the viewer with a large number of bible passages that appear to support his position. When you actually go and check the NUMEROUS references that he gives out, you'll find that he is either taking stuff out of context, or he is just plain wrong.

Oh yeah, kind of like the way preterists at this board write loooooong posts with tons of scripture. Ya gotta wear em down, wear em out. Hey Peri, can I use your debate technique as my signature?

jack is an interesting speaker/preacher and he does have to sell his videos on the air to stay on. His many projects that include making these videos are pretty big ticket cost for him...
The only thing that is needed for jack to do is change the format big time, because of him coming on late 130am Monday morning i'd tape his show and go to bed ....well after watching all these for about half a yr...it gets to the point of the same old same old format .....

I think JVI relies on sensationalism, just like many other speakers, as well as news reporters. I don't know much about him, just from random channel flipping, but from what I've seen, he likes to exaggerate and it seems rather far-fetched. I imagine 9/11 provided him with lots of new material...

...and lots of predictions that never came true:

"By the year 2001, there will be global chaos. (It will) usher in international chaos such as we've never seen in our history.. drought, war, malaria, and hunger afflicting entire populations throughout the [African] continent..." (VanImpe, On the Edge of Eternity")

"the composition of the number “666” spells the word VISA – the exact name of today’s most accepted and popular credit card” (VanImpe, 11:59 and Counting, pp.106,107)

"Only the spiritually blind can deny the fact of a literal millennium. Only the willfully ignorant can claim that the teaching is based on just one chapter of the Bible." (VanImpe, Revelation Revealed, p. 236)

Don't wanna offend anyone, but isn't he the guy who sais the new Babylon will be New York City.

I like some tv evangilist, if they give a sermon and give the scripture so you can look it up. We can't take what man sais about the Word, gotta read it ourselves.

Also those faith healers; all i can say is WHATEVER!!!!
