  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

OK, so anyone who actually knows me knows that I never get really angry, except for over some political or religious issues, and even then I stay pretty calm. But right now I'm so mad I could eat rocks. The reasons are a little complicated, but it comes down to some policies that the chair of our department has put in place that is keeping me from using some test equipment that I need, and that hardly gets used anyway. I've had it with CSUN and it's idiotic red-tape loving administration. They can kiss goodbye any chance of me going there for my M.S.

I guess I just need to vent, but please pray for me. I'm ready to storm into the chair's office and chew him out, because I've been very polite in my dealings with him over the last two years that this has been a problem, and nothing has changed. But I still need to graduate, so that probably wouldn't be a good idea. :D

OK, I'm done.

Get some ice and serious chill out. Calm down... they said you can't use that equipment for whatever crazy reason they have. However, you can go find something else to do. And most of all ask God about it and don't mad at them. And do not go chewing out the chairman either... you could get kicked out of college over that.

yeah cos god'll make the problem get solved!

or you know, just use the equipment and don't tell anyone. depending on size of school, a large regent university has so much stuff and so many labs that this really isn't an issue. go schools for science and technology!

The problem isn't really the equipment itself, it's that the room the equipment is in is locked up. I can't work on my senior project unless I have access to that equipment, or spend several thousand dollars to buy it myself.

I'm not going to yell at anyone, but I am going to make an appointment to see the chair in the next few weeks to let him know how much he is hurting the students' ability to learn. I'm not the only one at the school who has this problem.

And actually, I have been using the lab at times, because if people I know are in there, they usually let me in. But there's not always someone there. It's not expensive equipment either, relative to the amount they spend on computers and stuff, so it's not that they are worried that I might break something. It's just that a couple of students complained that the lab was getting too crowded, which it wasn't, and so they closed it.
