How much do you think about your writing projects?

Do you daydream about your stories at all? (Bonus points for night-dreams :))

Do you carry a notebook and pen with you for random spurts of ideas?

Have you ever drifted off from conversations/daily activities because your mind was in a story?

My answers: Constantly, yes (plus bonus), yup, and all the time.

^_^

Share your experiences! One time I was so caught up in trying to work on a character's first-person narration that i gave her name for mine on the top of my homework.

All the time!

Especially the dreams. I have had several themes that will likely never see the light of day, that were born in dreams.

While I haven't quite done that, yet, I have wanted to throw in mythological points from ideas that I have been tossing around for my current project. Only problem, is that I can't get it to work out right.

I'm always thinking about my story (especially the characters)

Yes + bonus

Heckya - I feel naked without a pen and notebook somewhere on my person.

And yes- I do that often.

- I've been answering to the name of my MC for almost two years now

- My characters have very autonomous lives....one of them proposed yesterday, without my direction.

You got that totally right. I really get into my characters and sometimes I really can't get out of them. I am constantly thinking of them and what they are going to do and if this one should fall in love with that one and how to intermesh scenes. Like battle scenes........how to get it started really blows my mind. I know the plot I am going to use but I just can't get to the point of where they are in the midst of battle. See what I mean. I've been stuck there for a week and that is about all I can think about. I even wrote my son and ask him what he thought........my son is the last person I should have asked.....I mean he thinks i'm too old to do this stuff.... But I know right where you are coming from. hugs Lady Marion

Think about your writing projects - 70% of the time, the other 30% is when my mind wanders ;)

Day/nightdream - Yes, and mega yes. Most of my night dreams, though, are the spawning point of some freaky horror project that fails (what's the word...nightmares? :D )

Carry a notebook - nope. On a very rare occasion, but not enough to make it a yes. I have a good memory, and have written entire songs in the car, or late at night, and then jotted them down when I got home/woke up.

Drifting - heck yeah.
