One of my biggest sins inside of me is I honestly feel I'm KING of the UNIVERSE.
I don't currently have a job. And I'm content with that. Yet I harshly judge other people who don't have jobs.
The reason is, and let me put it in quotes:
"I'm KING of the UNIVERSE! This is MY WORLD. And I will NOT have any of my creations sitting on their butts doing nothing. I'm KING. I have a RIGHT to sit around and do nothing. They are all servants, and they MUST GET TO WORK! This is MY WORLD, and you WILL ALL WORK!"
"This is MY WORLD. I see through my eyes, not other people's eyes. You are all mere puppets on my stage."

I am a very miserable person. The reason is because of sin.
But my sin speaks like this:
"No. The REAL REASON I'm miserable is because NO ONE WILL WORSHIP ME. That MAKES ME VERY VERY ANGRY! I created them! I died for them! I spilled my blood for them! They WILL WORSHIP MEE!!"
"This is MY WORLD! I made EVERYTHING. You will ALL BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP MEEEE!!!"

How is that working for you?

It is working very well for me. I don't feel the sins are taking control of my life anymore.
The Spirit is letting me know all the evil that is in me, and causing me to confess my sins.
The Spirit searches out all things that are offensive in me, so that they can be exposed.
Whatever doth make manifest is Light.
It is disturbing to have to admit I am very self-centered and that I exalt myself above all mankind. But it humbles me; and that is the important part.
Thanks be unto God for his Spirit. Without his Spirit, I wouldn't be noticing any of these things.

I created them! I died for them! I spilled my blood for them! They WILL WORSHIP MEE!!"
Well, Jesus created us and died for us and spilled His blood for us; so Jesus is worthy of our worship.

But Jesus is not conceited about expecting our worship and obedience. Jesus first came here and went through things we go through so now He as our Groom can feel for us and help us >

"For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin." (Hebrews 4:15)

So, Jesus is not like a distant and impersonal king who wants to boss and control and use people. Jesus cares for us and has been our example >

"And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." (Ephesians 5:2)

So, Jesus is so humble, that He came here to help us and bless us, so we can share with Him in His own love and way of loving.

So, it is important to confess our sinning, but also to learn how to love >

"'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:29)

That's another one of my sins that comes up, where I falsely bestow a lot of ungodly attributes to God, and consequently produce within myself a desire to rebel against the King.

It is possible to get God and Satan mixed up. But, most of all, we need to deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow Jesus. I mean, even Satan is not my real problem > I have been my main problem.
I was basically confessing my self-righteousness and my self-centeredness.
I'm probably the only one on planet Earth who has this problem, that's why so many people are astonished.
I'm not as holy as them.
I have discovered that I could be confessing self-righteously, then criticizing others for not being as honest as I was . . . supposedly. It takes God, it is impossible with us :)

"Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God," (2 Corinthians 3:5)

You might have narcissistic personality disorder. It's good that you're trying to use God to help you defeat these thoughts. I'm not a narcissist but I've got that same attitude sometimes, where I wonder how people can be so ignorant.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, who can know it.
May God have mercy on me. May God have mercy on all of us.

Continue confessing my sins. Praying to God, that he may rearrange my priorities.
Getting others to pray for me, as well.

Umm is this one of those joke threads? Cuz I have good advice if it's not...
Our sin problems can go on and on so it seems like a joke to try to stop them. But we need to not quit, but keep at it. And, even if someone were joking, we have people reading here, who are serious and they could benefit from any good advice you give :)

And there are people who do get to feeling like they are a joke because of their failure. So, we can encourage someone like this, so the person sees how God and we do take the person seriously and have hope for the person > love "hopes all things" (in 1 Corinthians 13:7).

It is important not to get addicted to criticizing only certain sin problems, because this could keep our attention away from other problems that need correction. For example, if we stop things like smoking and sexual sin, then we may need to get corrected of other things, like "complaining and disputing" (Philippians 2:14-16). And there will always be more > as we get to know Jesus and how to love, more and more things will get shown up!! :) But we can know that God cares for us and has hope for us and has so much better for us, than the things we go after in our sinning.

There are the better-known no-no things. They can keep our attention away from God, help to keep us weak, and things like smoking can be more clearly destructive. But even if we leave behind the basic no-no stuff, then there will be more correction needed. There will be sins to deal with, like "complaining and disputing" (Philippians 2:14-16) which are not so obviously wrong, not mentioned in the Ten Commandments or medical advertising against things which hurt people.

But complaining can keep us from enjoying God and being grateful for all the good He shares with us. And arguing is very degrading to having a real love relationship with someone. Therefore, complaining and arguing are anti-love. And there are other things like fear (1 John 4:18), worry (Philippians 4:6-7), and bitterness (Ephesians 4:31-32) which can help to keep us from sharing with our Father and our Groom Jesus and one another in love. So, after we get over the simple no-no pleasure and abuse sins, then we need to learn how to love and how to overcome the deeper spiritual and emotional things which war against love.

One of my tricks has been to guilt-trip myself about some sexual pleasure sin, and think that by paining myself I could pay God off so I could get that treasure pleasure again and then punish myself again, instead of getting real correction.

But God's correction is effective. So, "of course", Satan does not want us to do what will really work. We need to submit to our Father for real correction which will involve pain, but it will be the pain of surgery, instead of the ongoing strain of self-abuse >

"Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." (Hebrews 12:11)

I am a very miserable person. The reason is because of sin.

Repentance for me is not in trying to stop sinning, but trying to walk by faith, live by faith, walk after the Spirit, live by Christ, put on Christ.....and I've found my sins are being subdued in the process. I do it in peace, and in the power and love of Christ.

I can't imagine having to focus on not sinning, and doing it by will power. It would be a nightmare, and I would eventually call it quits.

The best solution to pride is humility. I had a friend who had pride problems. Then God put him in a situation where he had to look after an elderly man who couldn't really do anything himself. After several years, he didn't have pride problems anymore.

Just pray that God puts you in a situation where He can humble you.
