Personally I think this is tragic - politically you and I have VERY different views. I'm a Social Democrat, which many conservatives label liberal - in reality it's "left of centre". I see Trump as highly entertaining and also a concern on the world stage. You and I have different views on things like same-sex marriage, immigration, and that's ok. Christians can, and do disagree. As Christians, as long as that disagreement is prayed out and thought out, I'm fine with it. I have had people here insinuate that I am not a Christian at all - which is highly insulting. What do you call someone who has repented, been born again, believes the Bible, and seeks to follow Jesus first and foremost? The same holds true when I disagree with you. It's not that we disagree, it's how we disagree that matters.

The problem with an online community like this is that it does bring together people from very different backgrounds. We need to be a place where all views are tolerated, discussed openly (and I hope prayerfully, in the light of Scripture) and where what holds us together (our faith in Jesus) is held above all else. Sadly, CF doesn't always foster this attitude.

"By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" - John 13:35​

Sadly, this love is often not the first thing that people see.

Christians are to be conformed to the image of Christ, not the image and cares of this life, and this world.
The cares of this life choke the spiritual life out of you and make you unfruitful in the kingdom of God.

Matthew 13:22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

Satan tempted Christ when Christ was really hungry after 40 days fast, and told Him to turn stones into bread.

1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

Israel wanted to go back to Egypt, which is spiritually Sodom and Gomorrah. We as believers need to be careful about the cares of this world, the whole world lies under the sway of Satan and believers will make spiritual compromises against the faith when getting involved in supporting worldly ways. Those ways are under demonic influences.

4:33 AM -- up as usual on this early morning and yours Don was the first post that I have read today.

Actually Don yours was one of the most heartfelt post that I have ever read on this site. Some of the key words that I picked up there are that many of us here are Born Again and believe in Repentance and we should all be loving not only to (all) of the ones of the world but, especially to our Christian brothers and sisters. I know that I'm a sinner and I appreciate your message sent.

I guess for most Christians it seems at times especially for myself the best I can do is examine myself each day according to God's Word and usually that means Bob let's step it up a notch. I (we) know that we don't get to Heaven by our good works but, it's best that we attempt to have many and as the Bible states love of God and love of our brothers and sisters would be number 1. I actually prefer to say number 1 and number 2.

We all fall short but, that is no excuse not to want to finish the good race.
