  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's the most wonderful time of the year....

LOL..the kiddos started school today! I will miss them....next week! Today I'm enjoying peace and quiet...catching up on laundry and housework.(super busy weekend)

Grace(oldest/ 7th gr.) was so excited she was waiting by the door at 6:10.(she leaves at 6:30) She couldn't stop smiling and said her cheeks hurt.

Mary(middle/ 4th gr.) is my super shy, super sensitive kiddo and she was excited too. She's totally come out of her shell and couldn't wait to see who was in her class this year. She was up and ready and chatty.

Peter (grand finale kid/ 1st)...poor Peter. He was miserable. He doesn't want to leave mommmy. He was in 1/2 day kdg. last year so this year will be long for him. He cried all morning...he's always had a rough time with new things...so my husband went in to work late and took him to school. It's so much easier to say goodbye to daddy than mommy. I watched him pull out of the driveway and his smiles had faded...poor guy. DH said he did pretty well...he stopped crying before dh left the room..so that's a good sign. Also..his good friend that lives 5 houses down is in his class...so he'll love that part!

Now the whirlwind of the school year begins!

How about everyone else?

It was glorious! A full day to myself! I've been a sahm for nearly 13 years....and we were foster parents...so for over a decade I've been knee deep in kids at home. This felt wonderful, lol.

All went well....Peter ended up loving his full day and thought lunch was fun.

I hope everyone else has a smooth first day!

My kidos start on Monday the 24th. This will be the first year that my kids will be in different schools. My son will start middle school this year. In a couple of hours we will be going to meet his new teacher and see his new school. Actually his "new" teacher is the teacher he had for 3rd and 4th grade! Last year she moved up to the middle school. So that is great for my son (he is autistic and transitions are very hard for him) he only has to get use to a new school. Tommorrow I meet my daughters teachers.

I'm a bit sad because this is the first year that I'm not going back to school. I was kind of hoping that I'd have a teaching position by now, but no...I applied for 6 more openings yesterday, but I don't have much hope.

My daugther just came out of the bedroom....."why are you playing christmas songs, mom?" She sat down next to me and I replayed the video for her. She just did a faceplant onto the sofa. LOL.

DD started Monday. She was so ready. Never even looked back at me when I walked her in. Kinda hurt my feelings. LOL DS started 3 yo preschool Tues. and I was so stressing about this as he's a Mommy's boy but he did great! I had prayed and prayed about it and God amazed me to no end. I'm glad your 1st grader did good his first day.
