• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A sexually assualted and illiterate lady recieves a blessing and is gifted as a saleswoman. God let's these things happen so we become weak, so it can be turned to strength and spill out a lot of blessings. Yes, I'm talking about poeple who have been taken advantage of. I'm talking about victims, but not of sexual abuse alone, but of other types of abuse, as well. Don't ever let this slow you done or put you down completely, but turn this experience so it can benefit you and give you strength. It can be used to save others by helping other victims. Then the victims will see how wonderful the Lord is and will want to turn to him.
These things are allowed to happen so the Lord can show his love and mercy.

Hi Psalmangel - thanks for sharing, but (excuse this ignorant Aussie) who is Sid Roth, and where is this from?

I think the reasons for why abuse happens are as numerous as the amount of abuse itself and incredibly complex. I also believe that God is not a sadist and that it wounds him deeply each and everytime (and after all, Jesus is in us, and thus enduring it with us - an interesting thought). I have no doubt though, that it can be used for some kind of good - and can strengthen and deepen us as people just as other forms of suffering can. However I don't believe that God sets it up that way deliberately, but rather brings restoration and healing because He is committed to ensuring that it doesn't rob us of the life He has promised us.

Just my thoughts

Indeed, you may be right. :) I mean, yeah, he doesn't ste it up delibaretly but some pweople ask that if God has the pwer to prevent it... to prevent the devil from tempting the perp then why doesn't use it. People sometimes ask themselves, "why, if he's all that powerful, did he not stop it". The answer to that is because he can use it to his and your advantage... not to mention to others. Because he also has the power to turn that into a strength and a gift that would help the lost and helpless. Bless you, Makk. 'It's supernatural' is ministered and hosted by Sid Roth, on Daystar. You may or may not find more info on www.daystar.com. Roth's ministries interview people who were once hopeless, but were given hope thanks to God's supernatural ability to give out miracles. Today, Roth interveiwed an illiterate who learned to read the moment she started to read the bible from the beginning to the end, just as the Lord promised. She once lived in poverty, but her athiestic friend when to every church in the little town yelling anmd bugging the priests and/or pastors that she knew that somewhere in the bible it does say that they should care for the needy. Supernaturally, she (not her athiestic friend) is now a salewomen... second to top, i think.
She was also a victim. But she didn't let that stop her. She even managed to forgive him.

God does not allow this to happen. He hates it as much as we do, he cries with us every time it happens. It happens because people have free will, and some people use that free will to harm others. However, I do agree that God can take what happened and turn it into something good. Such as the survivors that go on to help others. But he doesn't allow it to happen just because of that. I think that's God's way of letting the perp. know that he can't win on the side that he has chosen, and it's God's way of dealing with His pain.
