First off, I'm kind of new here, so sorry if I get this in the wrong forum. :)

I just thought I'd share something that has occurred to me over the past year or so and the best illustration of it came just the other night. Basically, I've really been noticing how far off scientist really are. It seems that every week or so, I'm reading about how there's some new theory to replace the old one. And I'm not talking about minor ones either. For example, it seems that the dinosaurs that I grew up with are all "extinct" now and a new bread of them have come to the forefront... and these even have feathers! Where did the brontosaurs go anyway?

I'm also seeing that the big bang theory has a replacement, which is even more fantastic. How can the big bang be wrong!??!

What brought this to a head was Dateline the other night. The one that they had the Jesus special thing. I tuned in right when it came on.... I'm always curious when non-Christians study Christianity. Anyway, I had to sit through an entire hour of how we don't know how people get fat. What's up with that? And people look at me like I'm nuts because I believe in something that I can't prove to them with science?

Sorry, just had to share.

Science is looking for truth, not neccesarily providing answers. Although there are things that "seem" true, science needs to test and retest them to know if it is, and under what conditions and so on. Science is just a tool, not the answer. Unfortunatly people sometimes think it is the answer. LIke any other instrument, it can be misused to "prove" or "disprove" certain positions or arguments. It is not by any means the end-all authority.
An interesting thing I have notice in those around me is that people are realizing that faith in science doesn't hold up. I think many people are seeking to find deeper truths in our time. What an opporutnity to share the real unaltering truth of Jesus Christ!!
