  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Actually the snow will make it better. I really love Maine; I don't mind the cold or the snow but until we get through December the dark is just depressing! I'm definitely a Light Lover!
I like the snow too, so my above post was only semi-sarcastic. :) What I don't like is the dirty snow of February.

I live in the Caribbean, no DST and perpetual summer.

I have never even actually touched snow, is it cold? :)

Do you have a refrigerator/freezer for food storage? Place your hand in the freezer. That is what snow feels like, but it is all over the outside, and the air is cold, which forces one to wear heavy clothing to keep warm:)

Oh, you temperate regioners have weird customs. Here lots of clothing means that you bake yourself.

And isn't the snow all cool. You people make it sound so bad. You get to have snow ball fights and the like, the most we can muster is maybe a sandball fight and thats not safe at all.

Cold and snow are fine if I'm bundled up and zooming across the snow in a sit-ski.

Snow becomes a problem when it's piled 3 inches high on top of my car, or when I'm trying to slog through it in my wheelchair.

Snow really is quite awesome. It also helps spiritually. We have to become far more patient with one another and with our own selves. Can't rush around like usual. It generates a beautiful silence in air and we have to stay put a lot more often either alone or shut in with family allowing a lot more quiet time with God.

And I LOVE snowball fights!!!

Our snow doesn't get dirty until March, and April...but then we just call it mud season.

I absolutely love this time change because it feels like I'm getting up an hour later than usual. It's the spring change I can't stand - and no one can stand me afterwards, either, because everyday I rant and rave about how I should still be in bed. :p I do prefer getting up and going to school in the dark, though, and being able to see the oranges and purples in the sky; it's depressing to go to school when it's already bright.
