Hey, I'm practicing for my trip to the South - we have 32 C this afternoon; That's 89.6 F to some of you!

(Now why is there no degree key here, is that normal, or is my keyboard deficient? Hmm... )

Which means I get to aclimatise myself a bit, and practice my dialect! LOL :D

Can't think of anything to add to that, but I just had to tell you all that we can actually have hot summer days in the UK now and then!

God bless you, love Susana

Howdy Ma'am!

Just so you'll know, 89.6 degrees is NOT hot. Here it's not even summer yet and we are experiencing temperatures of 99 degrees with a heat index (taking into account the 90% humidity) of 105. Come July, it'll be 100+ degrees every day with heat indexes over 115 degrees.

Addict4JC yes, nice breeze, but didn't stop my fair-skinned daughter coming home like a lobster. She measured it as 42 degrees C in her friend's garden. Sunburn tips anyone? :sigh:

Sonshine, what's air conditioning? Oh yes - close the curtians and open a window! LOL

Thanks for the tip Jesusong, won't work though. Hmm.

Gasp! Danny you're scaring me! Isn't that about boiling point? LOL

God bless, love Susana

Can you say, "steamed nicely in your own juices"? LOL! I realize the temp you posted would be hot for the UK, but when you add in the humidity.....whoa! LOL! That's why they sell their own personal hand-held fans that also have water bottles attached to add a nice cooling spritz! :D

To get a degree symbol press and hold the alt key and type 0186. When you release the alt key the degree symbol should appear like this º

32ºC or 89.6ºF

Typical summer's day we'd be happy to get between 70 and 80 I think. If it's above 75 we're claiming heatwave! And humidity isn't usually a big problem here.

Ooops - daughter feeling shivery and yucky now - sunstroke?
Lie down, cool off, lots of water, yes?

Blessings, love Susana

~ 86º is a bit chilly for us here in Southern Arizona. I prefer it between 95 and 105º. Of course, the humidity here is less than 25% so that does make a BIG difference. I remember being in the Amazon before with temps of 98º and humidity at 99%. THAT was miserable weather. No wonder the natives wear only a thong or less....

Hi Susana,

I know, it's been so hot today. It was yesterday too. I've been putting loads of factor 25 on when I've been going out, but I keep forgetting about the back of my neck, which is now rather red. (Cue sunburnt smilie if I could find one.)

I don't know if it gets hotter than this in America, but if it does - good luck. (Sorry, don't actually believe in luck, but you know what I mean.)

Susana, I was just about to make a post like this!

This heat is unbearable! I can't sleep, I can't work, I can't do anything which involes a remote amount of effort! My brain is going at half speed (perhaps I have sunstroke?) and my PC keeps crashing because it's over-heating.

I guess it makes a nice change from the cold.... ;)

I wondered why you were up so late! :D

My husband's PC was overheating, so he just took the side panels off it! Worth a try? (Don't blame me of it all goes pear-shaped though! I don't know a thing about PC's!)

Blessings, love Susana

that alt trick don't seem to work...every key I press while holding down the "alt" key gives me a tone and then nothing...

Guess I shouldn't be looking for the symbols in the wind or the fire, eh?

During July it gets about 102-104 during the day. Problem is that it doesn't cool off until late. It is still like 90-94 at 8:30-9:00 in the evening. Usually gets down to 78-84 after midnight. Only part of Texas I don't like. I have left to work with it already being 84-86 at 8:30 in the morning.

Well, we live in California and it has been raining and cold (60 degrees, how do you do the sign on a Mac?) for the last week. In fact, all the high school graduations were held inside this weekend!

Now, if that wasn't bad enough, we live 1 hour away from the 3 big earthquakes that have all happened in the last week! There was a tsunami warning and alot of people were evacuated. But, we were prepared! The prophets have been saying that a major event (presumably an earthquake) was to hit the northwest soon so we have been watching & praying. We'd appreciate your prayers too!

Anyway, we've had the heater/woodstoves on! In JUNE!!!
