• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Then there should be no problem sending them to NY, DC, or Martha's Vineyard since they are such a benefit to the community.
Let's understand a little reality here. Right now those immigrants are in Florida helping put those cities back together. Not only that, most of them because of language barriers take the jobs they can. Most of those are working the fields. Most of those places are the agricultural industries in mostly red states. So in reality, that's probably where they should be shipped as they await their immigration hearings. You don't see Desantis sending any Cuban refugees there from Florida. There are some 700k in Florida. So yes, they should be sending them. But too places like Iowa, Nebraska, Texas, Kansas, Wisconsin where there ARE worker shortages.

They work in my area. They are paid low wages and taken advantage of by property owners. They charge them outrageous rent and several of them have to live together to make it.

I don't know where you live, but there is no doubt that the Governor of Florida knows damn well what the situation is. In fact, he ran on E-verification, only to narrow that verification requirement in fields of work where no immigrants are working. Odd, but not so odd.

I don't think we NEED the amount of people who are coming across our border.

At what point does a non-citizen, who has been living, working and contributing to our society deserve representation? .

IMO - when they become a citizen.

I have to agree with the OP on this - allowing non-citizens to vote makes no sense. The right to vote for the government of your country is one of the rights and responsibilities that comes with citizenship.

You would be wrong. Again, most of those people may or may not end up here based on how their refugee status hearing goes. A lot of those people are currently being deported.

Every job opening is not for unskilled labor but getting back on topic illegal immigrants should not be allowed to vote.

""The American Farm Bureau Federation estimates there are over 2.4 million farm jobs that need to be filled annually, but there is a drastic decline in available workers year after year.""

I agree we are a wee bit off topic. But again, regarding the need for immigrants to function as a country, we need to stop fooling ourselves.

Then they can come here legally and fill these jobs.
