That's an odd one for a list like this :)
The first two that come to mind for me are Neutral Milk Hotel's "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" and the Smashing Pumpkins' "Muzzle."

I think its the overall "feel" to the song that gets me upbeat, lol
"and you may ask yourself.......":D
I actually was really curious about "in a aeroplane over the sea, cause I saw you post it a lot in the "what are you listening to thread" so I downloaded it, I rather like it

"My God! What have I done?!?" Yeah, I always thought it was a kind of depressing song, actually. A great one, though.

Cool! That's one of my favorite songs of all time. If you like it, you really should check out their album.

thanks for that link Jordan, I've been looking around there for the past 10 minutes or so. It was neat giving a little listen to NMH, and the list of "what people who bought this album also bought"
I forgot how much I love the Shins. I'm going back and actually buying some of the albums I have now. (downloaded) I think I will buy "....inverted world", That is, if I can get past New Slang without listening to it 200 times in a row. lol. NMH sounds sweet, I'm definently going to buy in the aeroplane over the sea.

So in a sad, kind of depressing way, "new slang" kind of makes me happy to be alive.,,I guess....
I swear, im not a sadist.

I was just talking with a friend the other day about what a great song "Float On" is. (And the entire Good News... album) There is nothing as good as a song that can put you in a good mood. :)

I'll probably get that NMH cd eventually...I really like some of the songs. I listen to "Two Headed Boy" quite a bit, but some of the other ones are just a little out there.

agreed :) The song is addicting It gets you so excited, kind of like Bad 80's power songs, except, its actually good!!

My dad was the one that told me I just had to listen to "Float On", he said that he loves the song so much, he can never get past it to listen to the rest of the album. gotta love great singles.
The whole album is great.

You Never Know...It's on the Gorge 2 CD set (track 4, Disc 1)...but I do love the lyrics to One Sweet World. Also there's "Alive" by POD that really gets me going! :D
