  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's all in the name ?

How was the only begotten Son of YHWH's name pronounced by all those who knew Him personally when he sojourned on the earth. We can certainly agree that no one ever called Him "Jesus" while He walked here, so what did they call Him ? I ask because the Holy Scriptures teach "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." and I think it a good idea to use that ONE name rather than any other name or any a.k.a. (also known as) or translations of the Messiah's actual name. After all, my name needs no translation regardless of the foreign country I might visit nor will it need be translated over the course of 2000 years should anyone on earth remember or refer to me, which is of course doubtful.

When one refers to "God" certainly that was not the name given by Our Creator to Moses as the word "God" is merely a title. Is YHWH's name important ? I think so. I would not want my seed to refer to me in such an impersonal way as "the Mailman", "the Grocery Clerk", "the Plumber" etc. and would think that the Most High would desire His Own refer to Him as Abba or Father or by His Name which certainly is not "God" as their are many gods. Is this an issue that deserves merit ? I would think so but many don't seem to see it that way. I've heard of the Christ being refered to as Yeshua of course. Is this correct ? How would "Yeshua" be pronounced phonetically as I have seen a myriad of different spellings and pronounciations

13And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? 14And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. How was This Name pronounced in Hebrew by Moses unto the Israelites ?

I'm cool with Yaway (YHVH) but that name is so sacrid to some that I am careful not to use it around them.....I use Father and ABBA when I am just talking about Him and ABBA or Yaway when I am praying...When the Scriptures use YHVH I say it out loud too...I am still learning about this so I'm not sure how I will feel in a year or so but right now that seems right to me (I see Yeshua doing that too)

I use Yeshua for Jesus unless I'm explaining something to a Christian then I don't want them to become confused over names so I will say Jesus...When I am talking to ABBA in prayer I say Yeshua

I'm not into the stress of how to exactly pronounce the Name of G-d or His Son's name... so what I say outloud is:

G-d, the L-rd, Father and other titles... but I think His name is Y H V H and unpronouncable at this time. In my head it sounds like "YAH-way" but I don't need to be 100% certain on that today. HaShem or Adonai work fine online.

I call His Son Jesus when in conversation with most Christians. and Yeshua otherwise.

Doesn't Tim Hegg work with FFOZ....the same FFOZ that had the teaching that Jesus was a Nazarite?

I think we are all familiar with your dislike of FFOZ, although you have repeatedly failed to produce any actual proof of your claims against that organization.

I do not dislike people, I dislike extra biblical teaching posing as fact. Read their stuff. Watch it change. God's Truth doesn't change.

So Wags, was Jesus a nazarite? Did He take the nazarite vow?

I do read their materials, and watch their seminars....

Once again I ask you to back up your accusations with proof - a quote, a link etc...

I really have no problem if you all want to discuss the validity of FFOZ's teachings. However, it cannot happen in this thread. According to the rules:

2.4 You will not post replies in threads that are off-topic to the original post. That is considered “thread hijacking” and staff may intervene to bring threads back on-topic

You can start another thread, you can hash it out via PM, but I'm asking kindly that this thread be allowed to return to its original topic. :)

I agree with you that Rabinical Judiasm (modern) is quiet different from ancient Judiasm(which had a few flaws in itself). Is that what you disagree with?...just look at all our denominations and their beliefs...not all of them are Biblical and some of them are man made and dangerous too....

No one is perfect! I choose to look for those things in the Oral Torah that complement the Written Torah, and I reject those things that try to change the Written Torah...AND even with all those things said, I still am not an Oral Torah junky as I feel that ABBA's word is often ignored when we focus on these man made traditions...I want to please ABBA not man...
