  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In some women (including myself) the skin becomes very sensitive, I've had to steer clear of alot of moisturiers and lotions because I come out in a rash . . so it could be that you're having a reaction to one of the lotions you are using . ..

Your doctor might be able to recommend something to soothe the itching.

With all the things that have been going on with me in this pregnancy I'm surprised my belly hasn't been itching so far. I'm in my 6th month so I might just get it in the last few months. But yea.. it's due to your stretching skin (don't ya just love pregnancy?) lol

You can also take Vit.E. Vitamin E helps lubricate the skin from the inside, plus it's very healthy for you and your baby (helps the blood cells be able to absorb more oxygen so you can breathe easier, which is Extremely helpful during labor & birth.) It's safe to take 400- 800 iu of Vit.E per day (just make sure it's NOT synthetic Vit.E).

As Jan said, Vit E is great. Also try some different oils as a rub for your tummy. Pure virgin olive oil is great, so is avocado oil, hemp or jojoba oil. You may find that perfumed creams are what is causing the reaction. Just keep experimenting until you find one that suits your skin.

Doesn't anybody use cocoa butter on the belly's ?

I used it all three times, can't say it prevented stretch marks but I can say I don't have any
I used cocoa butter when I was pregnant with my daughter. I have a bazillion stretch marks - it didn't help a bit!

I doubt the cocoa butter helped you avoid stretch marks but more likely you just have "good stretch mark" genes.

Agreed. I have "bad stretch mark" genes, inhereted from my dad. Any time I gain or lose weight anywhere, and even when I was a kid and just growing, I got stretch marks. My brother, who has always been in good shape and obviously has never been pregnant, has tons of them.

I remember reading that no topical substance can prevent stretch marks, since they form from the inside, but I'm not sure I read that. At the advice of a dermatologist, I'm trying Mederma today on my new pregnancy stretch marks. Anyone have experience with this product?
