Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Paul says let not sin rule you. We as Christians have the power of the Holy Spirit to stop the rule of sin in our mortal bodies. Paul said not to obey it (sin). Sin is the it, and then it will talk to you if you listen.
The word obeys here means to hear just like someone knocking on your door of your house. You hear the knock and you go open the door to see who it is and usually you say come in.
However, when sin knocks on the door of the mind do not open the door. Do not even stand at the door to give conversation with sin. Shut the door is the sin face and make him mad.
Sin has no-good offering for you. Satan the old poisonous serpent will tell you it is ok and that there in no harm in it because everybody doing it. Sin will deceive you and tell you it is good just like Satan did with Eve.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
The devil is not like a little kitty that just wants to rub its body on you and mew. The devil want to destroy you.

Satan main adjective is to get our eyes off Jesus and what He has done for us at Calvary. When the storms of life come keep your eyes on Jesus because what He has done for us at the cross of Calvary is sufficient for every need.
