Ecclesiastes 8:12-13,
"Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:
But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God."

Life is short, though it seem long to us. Looking back over the 60+ years of mine, it even seems short now, though at times the present seemed long and dragging - especially waiting for something.

But the wicked think they have all the time in the world, then suddenly, it's over, and, without Christ it's then wasted in perpetual wastelands. Matthew 8:12 speaks of the children of the kingdom being cast into outer darkness. Now I know Jesus is speaking to the Israelites there, but consider this: how many of us who go regularly to church, and think of ourselves as children of the kingdom, are in fact lost because we were never born again?

In Revelation 22:15 we read, "For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie." ("Dogs" are not puppies, but men of impure minds: impudent, and can also refer to sodomites) We do not want to be found with such, nor to be judged as such! Be sure the blood of Christ covers you!

Matthew 13:38-43,
"The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear."

Let us be sure we are children of the kingdom, not the children of the wicked. It shall not be well with the wicked. But in Christ there is eternal life, if we walk in Him; that being a continual walk, and a growing in grace, abounding in the abundant life that he gives.
Amen
