Thanks! The warm tone of your message is something I will try to emulate.Hi David
Thank you for your reply if we can agree that the sun represents Christ and we know the moon is the reflected light of the sun the words of Paul come to mind
1 Corinthians 13:12 ESV
[12] For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

If the sun represents Christ then the moon represents something and the only logical answer is his bride the church the reflected light of the sun its interesting that st Paul could know that the moon reflected the suns light I have nothing to support the stars being the children of God except my logic.
Love and Peace

The Bible makes this very clear: "“Let there be lights in the vault of the sky". We are talking about the vault of the sky. This is the atmosphere. Sometimes they talk about the greenhouse effect. We see on the second day that: "God called the vault sky".So why, in your view, does the description of God's creative work on Day Four include the sun, moon and stars, as recorded in Genesis 1:14-19, quoted in my previous post?
LA to Singapore is the longest flight at 18 hours. I have been to Hong Kong and that is almost as long. I married a girl that lived about as far away as you can get on this planet. If you dig a tunnel to the Southern Hemisphere then it's not a case of "not necessarily" ending up in China, but definitely not ending up there. And you wouldn't end up in the Southern Hemisphere if that's where you started.
The point is that the laws of thermodynamic does not show chaos, they show cosmos or Creator. This is why we have theistic evolution. This also shows that you can not transgress the law of God. Jesus came to fulfill the law. Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them." We know God through the study of His law. Mathew 5 18 "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."But what are the far-reaching implications that interest you?
But none of your reply addresses the reason for Genesis telling us that God created the sun moon and stars on Day 4, not on Day 1.The Bible makes this very clear: "“Let there be lights in the vault of the sky". We are talking about the vault of the sky. This is the atmosphere. Sometimes they talk about the greenhouse effect. We see on the second day that: "God called the vault sky".
The moon's atmosphere is much less dense than Earth's atmosphere, so there's no atmosphere to spread light around during the day. This means that the sky appears black at midday, and the glow from the sun would completely outshine the stars.
The sky before the great oxygen event was very different.
- Atmospheric Composition: The atmosphere was primarily composed of methane, ammonia, water vapor, and carbon dioxide, with very little free oxygen. This composition would have given the sky a different hue, likely more reddish or orange due to the scattering of sunlight by these gases1.
- Lack of Blue Sky: Without significant amounts of oxygen and the resulting ozone layer, the sky would not have been the clear blue we are familiar with today. The absence of an ozone layer also meant that ultraviolet radiation from the sun was much more intense2.
- Clouds and Weather: The types of clouds and weather patterns would have been different due to the different atmospheric composition. The presence of methane and other gases could have led to more hazy or cloudy conditions3.
Remember the atmosphere filters light so that is different from objects that reflect light. One is the additive color theory and the other is the subtractive color theory. AS a electrician for our local ballet company I have learned a lot about lighting and how to filter the light. People like Taylor Swift with her billion dollar tour put on a really powerful light show. That is a part of why people pay so much to see her show. They call it a laser spectacular.
I work with color and light with my rock art. In photography light is very important.
Because God created them on day one. He created the firmament on day four. The Bible is very clear about that. But none of your reply addresses the reason for Genesis telling us that God created the sun moon and stars on Day 4, not on Day 1.
But as I keep saying, the Genesis account says that God created the heavens and the earth and light on Day 1. On Day 4 He created as follows:Because God created them on day one. He created the firmament on day four. The Bible is very clear about that.
The 67 is a glitch. The average temp is 59 degrees. The point is that this is consistent and does not change. There is a slight variation due to the wobble effect but not enough to be concerned with. Can you explain why you say that the average temperature of the earth is around 59 degrees F, then you say that the global average is a bit lower than 67°F?
"Let there be lights in the firmament" The firmament filters the light. Those verses about Day 4 don't say that God created the firmament that day.
The primary colors in both systems are based on human eye anatomy. Since we have red, green & blue cones, those colors (or their absence, in subtractive terms) are interpreted as primaries. There are two main color theories:
The dance of colors is a fascinating interplay between light and matter!
- Additive Color Theory: This relates to light and how colors mix when combining light sources. The primary colors in this model are red, green, and blue (RGB). When combined, they produce white light.
- Subtractive Color Theory: This pertains to pigments and how colors mix when blending inks, paints, or dyes. The primary colors here are cyan, magenta, and yellow (CMY). When combined, they absorb (subtract) light and produce black.
That is a whole new ball game. We see this with underwater photography because of the distortion caused by the water and how the eye deals with that. I have tired many many times to explain to people how our firmament effects light but no one seems to get it.The primary colors in both systems are based on human eye anatomy.
It is one rotation of the planet... and it requires a relatively stationary light source on one side for that day-night phenomena to occurI am interested in what "day" means in Genesis chapter one. When we read: "there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.b
The Sun is zipping through the Milky Way at a blistering speed of about 136 miles per second. That's approximately 492,000 miles per hour! It takes about 225-250 million years for the Sun to complete one orbit around the center of our galaxy. It is one rotation of the planet... and it requires a relatively stationary light source on one side for that day-night phenomena to occur

depends on whether God, being all powerful, had the ability to have another source for light other than fusion reactions 98 million miles from Earth - for days 1-3prodromos said:
It is interesting, seeing as the sun was yet to be created.
vs 1 is summary - no days, no timeline given.I guess that depends on your understanding of "Heavens and Earth" in verse one.
indeed - how does that change anything in Gen 1??The Sun is zipping through the Milky Way at a blistering speed of about 136 miles per second. That's approximately 492,000 miles per hour! It takes about 225-250 million years for the Sun to complete one orbit around the center of our galaxy.
Nothing in Gen 1 says "on day one God created the sun moon and stars".God created the Heaven and the Earth on day one. That includes the sun, the moon and all the stars.
