  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

its just the biblical inerrantarians who cant be wrong.

Of course, obviously primitive bronze age nomads and barbarians examined the universe and understood it a lot better than these so called "experts" with their modern high tech equipment specifically developed to examine the universe.

Helium, iron, oxygen, carbon? Bah, it's all about earth, fire, water and air.

Remember Pluto?

In Pluto's case, you weren't even looking, and found stuff.
Unless you're planning to reclassify a flood as "light drizzle one afternoon, circa 2300BC", I don't see how that's pertinent.
No, you wouldn't.
Well, yes you would, but that's not really a problem you'll have to worry about since the geological record doesn't suggest any such conflict.

Except that it cannot be proven?
Proven beyond a reasonable doubt, yes.

[You mean those fallible human "experts"?
Maybe we should be talking about your human fallible interpretation of scripture, that you think is infallible because you have "God's Mind." :p

So it appears that YOU group yourself with "real experts." Well, seeings you are could you give us the papers YOU have published and the data YOU have found specifically on this. OR if not could you at least give us ALL the data that supports that there is no evidence of a flood in ALL the world. If you can provide this and not just refer us to talkorigins.com maybe it will help in our disbelief of this so called evidence that YOU REAL EXPERTS have.

Actually when I used the term "we" I was referring to mankind. How typical of you to misinterpert what I wrote in light of your tendancy for shouting " Elitist!!!!!!" at every opportunity. Real experts are the archeologists who do the research in this field.

And the heart, not the brain is the seat of knowledge. Not to mention that tooth decay is caused by a worm and the approved cure is to stick a red hot needle into the tooth cavity!

IT is a miracle that humans managed to survive at all.

If there is anything I give thanks to; Then it is Science!

Good post

We can trace our ancestory back via genetics. We should find we are all decended from one family about 4000 years ago.
You find just what the Bible says you will find. The J2 (J1c3 ) haplogroup. The Bible is a book of history about the Hebrew people. Actually the Hebrews and the Arabs claim to be decended from Abraham. Once again Science with the DNA evidence has shown the Bible to be true. Science helps us to have a better understanding of our Bible and it's message for us today.

The Bible says you will find 144,000 pure Hebrews today. There will be 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes. They already have the Cohen Gene soon they will have all 12 of them identified.

No need. We have evidence it didn't happen.
The interpretation of evidence can change with each new discovery, can' it?

Yep. But it's like the sun, no matter how much evidence we find, we won't find evidence that indicates that the sun doesn't exist. Same here. No matter how much evidence we find now, we won't find anything that indicates that the flood happened. We know it didn't.

Remember Pluto?
Still there.

Pluto still exists, it is still a planet, just a dwarf planet. It wasn't the interpretation of evidence that changed but the defintion of a planet.
I don't care what changed about it.

If it is no big deal, then why all the hullabaloo behind closed doors, and state legislatures trying to get Pluto reinstated, etc.?
